Bangladesh was the dress rehearsal. Nepal was net practice. The same script is being played out here. Underestimating the intent and preparation would be a mistake. The designs are clear. The aim is plunging the country to anarchy. Troubling times ahead.
We have proved that #CarrymeBack at Kedarnath is a success
In last four days we have transported 680kgs of waste to the foothill
Now it’s time to replicate it across famous high altitude pilgrimages and trek routes ?
We can’t do it every where but we can teach you how 🙏🏻
The alarm goes off at 4 AM. He doesn’t slam it shut. He lets it ring for just a few seconds; his wife lies, breathing softly beside him. He rises slowly in the dark and walks across the house. His clothes had been nearly laid out the night before – the khakis, the belt, the shoes, the cap and the badge. He bathes in the dark, dresses in the dark, and gets ready to head out.
Before he leaves, he does something he has never spoken about to anyone. He stands in the hallway for a moment, just a moment, and listens to the sounds of his house. The hum of the refrigerator. His daughter turning in her sleep. His wife's quiet exhale.
Then he picks up the thing that might get him killed today and walks out the door to protect people who will never know his name.
This is not a story about a hero. Heroes are exceptional. This is a story about a Monday.
We have a word for those who run towards the danger everybody else runs away from. We call them brave. We call them heroes. We call them saviours. But then, we forget about those very heroes till they do something to make us angry. The police officer occupies a unique position in our cultural pantheon. Simultaneously being the arbiter of the order we so take for granted and a villain, demonised for doing what he is lionised for. He is the person we call when the worst is happening and the person we protest against when the worst has happened. He is, quite literally, the devil we created and then simply forgot to have sympathy for.
I am going to try.
Not because they are beyond reproach. Not because they cannot or should not be criticised. Not because they are perfect – far from it. But because we as a society seem to have lost sight of the man in the uniform. The human being who kissed the forehead of his daughter at 5 in the morning, stepping out into the city, not knowing the horrors the day might bring; not knowing whether he gets to hear his daughter’s voice in the evening.
He didn’t make the law he enforces. He didn’t craft the system he works under. He didn’t write the policy that sends him to handle a violent mob, underpaid, understaffed and pathetically under-equipped, with no guarantee that the politicians would give him the orders to defend himself, and if they do, they would stand by him when a thankless city blames him for their own evil. He didn’t force the society to watch from a distance as he charges to absorb the violence it unleashed, and then stand at a distance and turn on him as he does so. What he did was sign up to not only absorb the violence society unleashes against its own, but also do so for a salary that would embarrass the risk the job comes with.
My respect for this brave officer. Nothing but respect.
I had a traumatic train ride today. It is very sad to see how people do not respect public spaces enough. When we are in the public, we should not shout or even talk loudly and disrespect every individual’s personal space in Public. As artists, we have a 100 thoughts running. And we thrive in silence. Everyone can understand the initial excitement when travelling in a big group in a train. But imagine a group of 40 middle aged adults occupying a 56 seater coach and talking so loudly to everyone for 5 hours. Non stop. Problem in India is nobody can question them. It is an unsaid rule that the other 16 of us which aren’t part of the group should simply endure them. So I requested the TTE if I could get another seat in a different coach. He tried but unfortunately since the train was full, I had to simply stay in the same coach but a different seat. Suddenly a group of 8, that was already yapping and laughing non stop, started playing UNO. And then I requested the TTE if anything could be done. He requested them to stop and they immediately stopped. But after a couple of minutes TTE came back and mockingly asked them ‘yaake sir galaatte maadtaideera?’ (Why are you creating nuisance?) and they had a good laugh with him and said, ‘sir Neevu banni, adona’(Sir you also join, let’s play). So the concern here is not about who won. Myself, along with them, as Indians, lost the Civic sense game. When will we as a nation improve our public behaviour?

Is this some kind of state-sponsored group working to target Hindu Sindhis who are not willing to leave their motherland?
Because if this isn’t an emergency, then what would an emergency look like?
Save our girls!!
That we watch this in silence & merely outrage on social media, with the government of India not pushing (visibly at least) the Jehadi govt of Bangladesh, says a lot about us as a nation, civilisation and people sadly !
You drug addicted @INCIndia lapdog. Are you seriously educated @SinghReetam . Your claims of being a rocket scientist are a figment of your third rate imagination. No wonder you were arrested thrice and a dumbo like you thinks it would give you a ticket in elections. Stop poking your filthy face in my timeline. I have earned far more respect than you ever will in a dozen lifetimes. You think your master and owner in INC can interfere in army records. You are even dumber than i thought. Go live your life and stay away from my time line. Blocking you.
I am from Manipur, defended the Nation for 40 years. Today I am scared to be me. Chongtham Vikram Singh, 55, a legendary guitarist from Manipur, was lynched in Kilokari for asking people to lower the noise outside his home.
He was a senior, a teacher, a father. His only crime was seeking peace at midnight. Every NE family in Delhi or elsewhere is asking the same question today - are we safe here?
RIP Vikram.
We demand swift justice.

“Some stories should not be scrolled past. This is one of them.
Col Anurag Upadhyay scored in the 99th percentile in CAT. He could have chosen a corporate career. He chose the Indian Army instead.
He volunteered for the Special Forces, completed probation with 3 PARA (SF), and joined the raising team of 12 PARA (SF). Even after a heart attack in 2008, he returned to active duty.
In August 2025, he suffered a severe posterior circulation stroke. Today, he has Locked-in Syndrome. His body has been severely affected. His mind has not.
He is conscious and aware. He remembers. He thinks. Through eye movements and alphabet-based scanning, he communicates his thoughts. Further complications resulted in bilateral below-knee amputations.
This post is not asking for sympathy. It is asking for possibility.
His family knows what the medical literature says. They are not asking for promises. They believe no credible possibility should remain unexplored because the right expert was outside their network.
They seek connections to:
• Neurologists and neuro-rehabilitation specialists experienced in Locked-in Syndrome
• Rehabilitation centres focused on neurological recovery
• Researchers exploring recovery of movement, speech or other functions
• Research and emerging technologies, including brain-computer interfaces
• Eye-tracking and assistive technology that could give Anurag a more independent voice
• Veteran organisations or individuals who can open the right doors
Someone reading this may know a doctor who has treated a similar patient, a rehabilitation team that has seen a different outcome, a relevant researcher—or someone who can make the right introduction.
His prognosis should be determined by medicine and how his body responds—not by a lack of information, access or connections.
Please make a connection if you can. DM “Tales Of A Gypsy” on Instagram. If you cannot, share this until it reaches someone who can.
No sympathy. Just one question: What more is possible for Col Anurag ?
Let us help him find out”

Let us not confuse one time rape, with life time sex slavery that came with daily humiliation and the passing off of women to different men as war loot. The two are entirely different things.
After capturing Hindu women what happened was documented by Ibn Battuta, where he mentioned seeing captured Hindu princesses forced to dance during Eid and given to court nobles as gifts.
To understand the level of degradation of captured Hindu women, one needs to understand a line written by the Islamic invaders themselves :
“Dukhtaran-e-Hindustan
Neelam e do dinar.”
Dukhtaran means women or daughter. In this context, meaning of the statement is ~ ‘The captive women of Hindustan were auctioned for two dinars.’
So many Hindu women were captured that the price sometimes would be even less than one dinar for lifetime sex slavery.
It was to avoid this humiliation, Hindu women would choose to commit Jauhar, when defeat was inevitable.
That was medieval era.
Coming to modern times, just eighty years ago, when the Congress President’s wife, Sucheta Kripalani, was staying in Noakhali (after the ri0ts) with Mohandas Karamchand Gandh she carried a cyanide capsule with her.
Why do you think she carried it? For the same reason women in India committed Jauhar during Islamic invasions.
The recent sex slaves of ISIS (mostly Christians) have said innumerable times in various interviews that they wish they had died before being captured by the ISIS men (second image is of a sex slave of ISIS).
It was a sense of self respect and dignity that made them refuse to be converted and sold naked in open s|ave markets, to live as sex s|aves and getting raped daily by multiple men.
One time rape is a red herring being used to dilute the lifelong horror that the captured Hindu women faced in medieval times.
