@megbasham @AuronMacintyre That probably overstates his degree of animus towards Christianity. His parents were Lebanese Christians. I have yet to see him use his platform to attack traditional Christianity in any meaningful manner. That said it's true. He is a self-professed atheist.

@BlueBoxDave @EsotericCD It doesn't necessarily mean anything. The prosecution essentially gets to correct all of the contemporaneous mistakes that they made during the trial. If the imbalance was a result of bad presentation on the part of the prosecution, it won't happen again.

I just end up feeling bad for them. Every interaction is “my ideology requires me to somehow find a way to reject western axioms under the guise of rejecting axioms generally.” And the underlying truth is: “I’m deeply anxious and depressed about everything and everyone tells me the one Saving Grace is the font of all oppression.”

After I’m done being angry with them, I earnestly pray Christ rescues them from the living hell they’ve built for themselves. I can’t imagine living like that.

@mtracey @PitBottomSuper And I think that might actually be Mr. Tracey’s point: It isn’t a requirement in the sense that a court has power to enforce it. Ironically it’s a requirement, violation of which causes a *non-redressable* harm.

@mtracey @PitBottomSuper Yet I don’t necessarily think that my view and Justice Jay’s are incompatible. Jay himself says courts are presumed the proper declarants of the law. JN is a reality—and an important one. Yet it can (arguably must) still be ultra vires in a judicial sense.
