Post-byelections,
1. Every missing child is a breaking news.
2. Every murder is a breaking news.
3. TN is being projected as unsafe for women.
4. The same narrative dominates all media houses simultaneously.

Do law and order issues exist? Yes ✅

Must they be dealt with severely? Yes. ✅

But does the NCRB data show a record high surge in crime as portrayed? No

Scores of children have gone missing and 100s of murders have happened over the last 5 years too. Honestly, how many do you recall seeing on the breaking news everyday?

Then, why this sudden media uproar? Now let’s connect the dots.

TVK’s vote base is the youth, women and families who see Vijay as Anna, Thai Maaman and Vijay Maama.

Targeted fear is being amplified around that particular section, who form the strong support base with the help of media houses.

With by-elections around the corner and barely 20 days left before the no-confidence motion deadline, this reporting has become very aggressive. How can one not ignore the timing?

We are not dismissing the legitimate concerns about public safety.
At the same time a neutral media should also publish the data, compare the numbers and then debate.

Always know that: Politics is a ruthless game. The opposition will weaponize every issue and stoop to any level if it serves their political survival. Nothing is off limits when power is at stake.

Stop attacking the minister without understanding the issue! 🫠

Take Kelavarapalli Dam near Hosur as an example.

For more than a decade, the Thenpennai River has faced severe foaming problems associated with untreated sewage entering from Bengaluru.

Sewage containing soaps, shampoos and detergents carries surfactants that can produce foam.

When polluted water flows calmly, the foam may be barely noticeable. But when the same water falls over a dam, crosses a check dam or hits rocks, turbulence agitates the water, creating massive amounts of visible foam.

This is basic science, not some newly invented explanation.

The long-term solution is adequate Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and preventing untreated wastewater from entering rivers.

Tamil Nadu has repeatedly raised this issue with Karnataka because the Thenpennai is also an important irrigation water source.

However, Kelavarapalli and Tiruppur's Noyyal are different rivers. The precise causes of foaming in Tiruppur must be established through water-quality testing, including checks for industrial pollution.

Foam alone does not prove textile dye pollution. Equally, it does not prove that soaps and shampoos are the only cause.

Before attacking Minister Rajeev over a selectively circulated clip, shouldn't we first watch his entire press conference?

Where is the full press meet?

Context matters. Science matters. Solutions matter more than outrage!
