ROOH Week Day 1 & 2 | Strategy in Motion!
Last week, we reaffirmed our commitment to the ROOH (Roof Over Our Heads) campaign in Kenya through powerful engagements at the SDI Kenya offices. We were honoured to host our partners from SPARC-India — Smruti Jukur and Vinodkumar Rao— alongside our collaborators from the Technical University of Kenya, Henrietta Oyula and Gideon Olawo.
Together, we revisited and refined our strategy for rolling out the ROOH campaign in Mathare, Kahawa Soweto, Mukuru, and Kiandutu. The discussions spotlighted the critical role universities play in contributing innovative design and building technologies to support affordable and alternative housing improvements. With Muungano wa Wanavijiji and SDI Kenya at the forefront, we’re pushing for housing that is resilient, adaptable, affordable, and truly people-centered.
Kicking off the week strong! 💪 Our Nairobi #TBChampions had a productive cross-learning meeting at AIC Nairobi today. They were engaged in discussing stigma reduction strategies, sharing experiences, & collaborating on effective county-level approaches to #EndTB stigma.
This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we’re planting fruit trees in Viwandani—contributing to a greener, healthier community and supporting local food access.
While global focus is on plastics, communities here continue to face the impacts of climate change.

We marked #WorldTBDay2025 with the press; reflecting on progress, but also sounding the alarm on looming health threats facing our communities.
Remember 2020–2023? When stockouts of life-saving HIV & TB meds reached their peak? We haven’t forgotten—and we won’t stay silent.

While stocks last, we acknowledge the effort put in.
Holding the government accountable however continues, because access to treatment is a right, not a privilege.

❄️ It’s the cold season! Remember, cold weather often means more time indoors, which can increase the risk of TB transmission. Keep spaces well-ventilated, open windows and doors. 🌬️💡 #EndTB#TBAwareness
