❤️ Gabriel Jesus on his celebration: “It’s very clear where I’m wearing this t-shirt. Jesus saved my life from the beginning, when I was born, I didn’t know it yet. Through the tough moments in my life, I realised we are nothing without Jesus, so I want to glorify his name”.
🚨 Unsure what and when to order imaging for a dizzy patient? History is key. Here’s your quick guide 🧵 based on the latest ACR (American College of Radiology) guidelines.
🧭 Brief episodic, positional vertigo: No imaging required. Liberate BPPV!
🧭 Acute & persistent, peripheral vertigo: Consider non-contrast MRI (schwannoma?)
🧭 Acute vertigo with neurological signs: Prioritize MRI, but CT might be suitable.
🧭 Chronic dizziness: MRI typically recommended at least once.

@arielmarilyn thanks for your talk on using justice appraisal in balance hypervigilance. Something that I've not heard before but makes a lot of sense and a useful tool to understand underlying issues that might be impacting rehabilitation.
Thanks Raymond Van de Berg for sharing at @BSNOtology conference on vestibular implants. Amazing how quickly central compensation occurs and looking forward to seeing how this progresses over the coming years!

Calling all audiology balance clinical leads. Please could you take 5 mins to fill out this survey on how/when you use vHIT? This will inform a section of a lecture at BAA 2023 on the last ten years of vHIT research and clinical practice in the UK. https://t.co/YqOjdSLHAO Thanks!
Brilliant resource for helping with FND, both for adults and paediatrics. A lot of elements of it would be beneficial for those with PPPD and panic attacks too.
Excited to reveal👉The FND Workbook: Ways to Rewire for Children and Adolescents w/ FND. This collaborative project w/ the @FNDSociety Peds SIG was created for providers to support patients between diagnosis and treatment. Find it at: https://t.co/4m2oEpdp8c #NeuroTwitter#FND
Looking for a treatment for ringing in your ears? This randomized trial showed using bisensory (auditory and somatosensory) stimuli could reverse altered neural patterns and lessen #tinnitus. Pretty cool. https://t.co/2tF1quklmG
@LisBteamdizzy@JudeG27@Mersey_Care@wendyheckels I'm cautious to suggest 60% vestibular dysfunction in fallers based on a lot of studies using headshake alone to confirm dysfunction, but vestibular screening is certainly beneficial with option for further vestibular tests when positive or an indicative history.
@EllieMo73186623@EdTankPhysio Yes, I agree, somewhere <50% sounds accurate. But when the papers use HST in iso (particularly in supine + only 3beats), 8% +ve CP, non-significant overt saccade on vHIT/HT for vestibular, or poor pursuit/saccades alone suggest central vestibular there's going to be inflated %
