Yes, it is indeed.
It is a nightmare working on a game for months, spend nights losing sleep, putting our jobs and personal times on the line.
Then, we woke up to be called a thief. and AI slop without proper evidence and investigation.
So instead of going back and forth, we’re just showing the work. Our artist has uploaded WIPs, production files and development material from Potato Please so people can see how the game was actually made.
We had never seen Rado’s game before all of this. Soviet + potato isn’t something either of us invented. It’s been a meme and a cultural joke online for years.
His mentioned game jam had a lot of potato themed games. We searched only google and steam when we started the project.
Funny thing is Rado’s own https://t.co/kvpEcA2AaB page has a generative AI disclosure. Potato Please was developed independently.
I called it Monotony Idle because I wanted to be honest about what it is. What I didn't expect is how many people would send it to a friend with the message "this is stupid, try it."

CELEBRATION OF THE GREAT VICTORY. Helmets, feathers, an allosaurus skull as the centerpiece, cups raised. Signed Anno Avium I. Year one of the birds.
They didn't just win. They reset the calendar. Their own birthday party is now prehistory.
Blood on the ice, blood in the water, the whole lower half gone rust-brown. Torn banners. A penguin on the peak holding something that used to be attached to something.
The penguins won. That's the horror. They won.
The balloons are gone.
Raptors on the ice. Pterosaurs overhead. A stegosaurus on the summit like it owns the place. Mosasaurs cutting through the same water the penguins were swimming in.
Nobody popped the balloons. They were just replaced.
Someone turned the "tip of the iceberg" meme into a five-panel story.
It opens on a birthday. Penguins, balloons, joy above and below the waterline. Nothing lurking underneath but more penguins.
The iceberg has no dark half yet.
The knowing stopped being a moat the day everyone got a pocket expert. What AI can't reproduce is the experience of having done the work, the voice and taste and personality that only exist because a specific person made it. Keep practicing that part, and point AI at the rest.
In the current landscape, there's a significant focus on measuring the speed of AI production. However, a crucial aspect that often goes overlooked is the ability to quickly identify when AI outputs are incorrect. This second skill is poised to become increasingly valuable in the near future. As we continue to integrate AI into various sectors, honing the skill of error detection will be essential for maximizing the benefits of these technologies.
