but this ruling lays down principles for ALL Hindu temples in TN under @tnhrcedept. 🧵

1️⃣ NO MORE @tnhrcedept Executive Officer DOUBLING AS "FIT PERSON" IN TEMPLES AS A ROUTINE POSTING!

The Court held an Executive Officer can act as "Fit Person" only in exceptional circumstances, for a very brief interim duration. Temple administration must vest in the Board of Trustees — not remain permanently with a government official wearing two hats. Such dual-role arrangements "ought to be terminated at the earliest."

2️⃣ EOs HAVE NO SAY IN RELIGIOUS MATTERS —

This is a superb victory for Hindus !
Under the proviso to Sec.45(2), HR&CE Act, the word "only" is significant: an EO's power is confined STRICTLY to temple properties (movable & immovable, incl. income).

"An area even slightly tinged with religious elements is a no-go zone for the Executive Officer" — pujas, Kumbhabishekam dates/timings, customs & traditions cannot be touched by EOs.

3. The Govt's Learned Addl. Advocate General fairly conceded that trustees will be appointed for Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple within 6 months.
Government has also called for applications from Hindus to be appointed as Trustees. A positive move by Hon'ble Minister @RameshOffcl

Finally, the Fraudulent set up of @tnhrcedept 's illegally appointed Executive Officer - also serving as the Sole Trustee (Fit Person) of the temple for more than 40 years comes to an END.

A real step towards temples run by Trustees, not bureaucrats — and the State kept out of religious affairs. 🙏

Chennai’s Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue, which had beautiful and walkable pavements than many other parts of city was dug up in Jan with a promise to make the 3km stretch flood-free.

Eight months later, the ₹17cr stormwater drain project remains incomplete, poorly executed or abandoned at several spots.

Residents now fear the flood-prevention project could worsen monsoon flooding. 🧵

CM C Joseph Vijay’s first Independence Day speech stood out for what it chose not to dwell on. He didn’t get into the history of the freedom struggle or turn the occasion into a prolonged State-Centre war clarion.

Instead, he spoke of the freedoms people in India are yet to get. Freedom from corruption, indignity, discrimination and being made to run from office to office for routine grievances.

His reminder that people are the rulers and those in government are their servants was perhaps the most important part of the speech, and the direction to officials to give a corruption-free governance.

The speech gives a lot of hope for the common man. Now comes the difficult bit: turning those words into action and results in every govt office.

If Trisha was allowed to hijack the Chief Minister’s Independence Day speech, it means we have collectively failed as a civilization!

Well, anyone can attend an Independence Day ceremony. In fact, every patriotic Indian should.

But,

Given the alleged history between the Chief Minister and Trisha, if she had aimed to hog the limelight at this important event, she is cheap and has failed as a person.

If the media had aimed to put the spotlight on her, which I believe it did, portraying as though the Chief Minister saluted her, then the media is cheap and has failed as an institution.

If handles on this platform had shared her clips rather than the salient features of the Chief Minister’s maiden Independence Day speech, then they are cheap and have failed as individuals.

Trisha is just an individual, and she cannot hijack the Chief Minister’s Independence Day speech on her own.

But it looks like we all abetted the process, which means we have collectively failed as a civilization!

Vande Mātaram is the definitive sound of a free nation. A few might find it completely irrelevant / assume it is just another historical footnote, but the journey of how those words survived to reach the Red Fort carries a forgotten legacy & it has a Bose connection.

When we hear the surname Bose, our mind instantly goes to S.N. Bose decoding quantum physics with Albert Einstein, J.C. Bose proving plants have life and pioneering wireless radio, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose building an army to challenge an empire, or even the global audio giant Bose Corporation.

This story is about none of them......

Long before the British owned Gramophone Company (HMV) dominated the Indian music landscape, Hemendra Mohan Bose, a brilliant Calcutta entrepreneur and chemist realized that sound could be a tool for national consciousness.

When Lord Curzon announced the Partition of Bengal in 1905, Vande Mātaram became the anthem of resistance. The British colonial government responded with harsh crackdowns, banning the public singing and broadcasting of the phrase under sedition laws.

H.M. Bose refused to comply.......

Bose owned basic Edison wax-cylinder phonograph equipment. Recognizing that British record labels would never press / distribute patriotic material, he personally set up a recording session with his friend, Rabindranath Tagore.

Tagore sang Vande Mātaram directly into the horn of Bose's wax cylinder recorder. It captured Tagore’s voice... high-pitched, raw, and intensely emotional delivering the song not as a soft melody, but as an urgent rallying cry.

To bypass the British distribution network and get Tagore's voice into every corner of the country, Bose launched "H. Bose’s Records"...India's first fully indigenous record label.

Because Indian manufacturing lacked heavy pressing facilities for shellac discs, Bose pulled off an international operation:

He secretly shipped his master wax cylinders out of India to Pathé Frères in Paris and factories in Belgium.

The European plants pressed Tagore's Vande Mātaram onto physical cylinder and disc records.

The finished physical records were smuggled back into India, packaged under his Swadeshi label, and sold out of his shop on Bowbazar Street, Calcutta.

The records became an immediate obsession among freedom fighters, played at secret political gatherings and Swadeshi rallies across Bengal.

The British police quickly traced the source. Under sedition acts, police raided H.M. Bose’s factory, warehouse, and shops.

British officers confiscated his inventory and intentionally smashed thousands of wax cylinders and records.

Decades of pioneering Indian audio history including rare nationalist speeches by leaders like Surendranath Banerjee and Tagore’s spoken recitations were permanently destroyed in the raid.

For almost a century, historians believed Tagore's original 1907 Vande Mātaram recording was gone forever.

However, a tiny handful of physical discs survived abroad. Because Bose had sent master copies to Pathé in France, duplicate pressings had been archived in European collections, hidden far out of reach of British police hammers.

Decades after independence, collectors unearthed these master discs in Paris and Belgium, allowing the world to hear Tagore’s original performance once again.

H.M. Bose ran a covert audio operation that used wax and shellac to defeat colonial censorship.

If you are wondering that someone in TN BJP will be doing something to counter this propaganda sorry they are waiting to see what Thalaivar Annamalai is going to say next and how to abuse him.
