🚨 Harris County is STILL allowing many citizens to register to vote using private P.O. Boxes, even though my SB 1111 made that illegal four years ago! Clearly the previous county officeholder ignored the law, and that’s why I also passed SB 1933 that gives @TXsecofstate, Jane Nelson, oversight over Harris County elections if necessary.

New data my office pulled from https://t.co/xAURpFRLvt shows active voter registrations at UPS Stores in Harris County 60+ at 1302 Waugh Drive, for example — that can’t be used as a residence address for voter registration and was the basis for these #txlege changes.

Laws like my SB 1933, see attached letter, give those involved in elections the ability to file these complaints to fix these problems within a couple of months, not wasting a couple of years or more on lawsuits. I’ve asked both Harris County Voter Registrar @HCTaxOffice and @TXsecofstate to review the data my office submitted to remove these illegal registrations, as no one lives in a private P.O. Box.
