Iโm really enjoying the Step app to measure my step count. It shows you how much of your goal (e.g. 10,000) you have completed which helps with motivation. It is also able to sync to the Apple health app and Apple watch #HSBH2009
@SallyUttley What do you think might be some negatives about a digital resource targeted to mental health? I think a face-to-face might stimulate a better rapport vs a digital environment that can sometimes inhibit vulnerable conversations. @SallyUttley#HSBH2009
Headspace is an example of eHealth that addresses mental health in an accessible way. This is especially important as over 2 in 5 Australians aged 16-85 have experienced a mental health disorder in their lifetime #HSBH2009
Headspace is an organisation that promotes mental health literacy to young people. This headspace day, young people and their families are reminded that it can be helpful to slow down and take some time to do something positive for their mental health.

@SallyUttley I think using this platform is a lot more convenient. A digital alternative makes accessing a psychologist more accessible for people who may not have the time to travel and go to an in-person visit #HSBH2009
@ZHANMINGZHANG6 For sure. I was interested to learn that robots and mechanical learning has developed so extensively that they have been able to diagnose an eye disease based on an image. Is there any other tasks done by robots that interest you? #HBSH2009
The TED Talk included in week 10 discussed machine learning. It talked about how machines are capable of outperforming humans in frequent, high volume tasks but are unable to tackle novel situations. What kind of jobs do you think will be impacted by machines? #HSBH2009
Clue is such a positive ehealth resource in educating women about their menstrual health and cycle. It also has high accessibility and is engaging to use because of how interactive it is. #HSBH2009
Another great use of eHealth through the โClueโ period tracking app which allows females to track their bleeding, mood, cravings, pain and so much more. This app also helps those trying to fall pregnant by predicting fertile days. #HSBH2009
The week 9 lecture was incredibly informative. I was not aware of how extensive and progressive the development of VR was in health care e.g. VR assisting individuals in stroke recovery allowing patients to perform everyday tasks and form new neural synaptic connections #HSBH2009
@renee_sproull@AlanaRoseMR It was actually enjoyable to be disconnected and participate more actively in-person conversations without the distraction of my phone and notifications when it was 'forced' but similarly to you, this was a few years ago when I was less reliant on social media.
Week 7 lecture highlighted the use of social media and how it is used/misused. I mainly use social media to connect with friends and share things I am interested in, however it is important for us to consider who has access to this information and it's implications #HSBH2009
@renee_sproull@AlanaRoseMR I relate! I have been to places with limited to no internet access and has ultimately forced a social media detox. I sometimes try to delete apps to not use them but as I use them to connect with friends it's hard not to re-install.
#HSBH2009 This week I explored my own My Health Record in light of the recent lectures by Prof. Melissa Baysari. I was surprised learning about the challenges associated with the MyHR including low uptake by patients due to usability as well as health literacy demands.
An interesting article I found regarding cuts to telehealth... how might this impact the delivery and access to healthcare services, especially in our post-COVID world and for those living in rural and remote regions? #HSBH2009

@TaeaSchmidtke I love your infographic! It breakdowns the key components of this health issue and informed me on a condition I am unfamiliar with. The use of dot points, colours and images all contributed to this.
This week's lecture highlighted remote healthcare and the role of telehealth. Super interesting to learn about the role of NASSS framework which aims to better guide to provision of telehealth and enable the most positive outcomes when using technology. #HSBH2009
Week 2 of #HSBH2009 really made me consider my own digital health experiences and behaviours. I have definitely been guilty of using Dr Google instead of reaching out to GPs. After this week I better understand the importance of good health literacy and accessing digital health.
