Today we joined with @IEUofA to make a joint statement about the Teacher Workforce Roundtable. Here is what we had to say. Much more to say tomorrow with the Education Ministers @AEUfederal
The left pic ⬇️ is of @EmmanuelMacron speaking at @COP26 today, & the right pic ⬇️ is @ScottMorrisonMP’s speech at the same event, to a nearly empty room.
This gelatinous fuckblistering dweeb has trashed AUS’s global standing beyond repair. It’d be hilarious if not so serious.
News Limited better lawyer up. I suspect @jonathanvswan will think it’s defamatory to have the photo of whoever that ugly old bloke is associated with his name. I am of course not referring to Kenny who’s a fine figure of a man and so young looking for his age.
The "Investing in Schools – Funding the Future" report shows investing in public school facilities would lead to improved learning outcomes, but also stimulate economic growth by over $5 billion per year and create 37,000 full-time construction jobs.

In a 5-year period, 4 private schools spent about $402m on capital works.

During the same time, the poorest 1800 schools spent about $370m on capital works.
They teach 107,000 students.
Go figure

The PM’s office was apparently miffed at the suggestion the federal budget doesn’t deliver for women.
He said “no-one credible” is making such a criticism.
Over 1000 #crediblewomen (and men!) on Twitter disagreed. I know because I made a list.

It is a national tragedy that we are losing a generation of researchers as our universities shed jobs.
These researchers are leaving and they won’t come back.
The Morrison govt is responsible for the mass destruction of the whole sector

Our former democratically elected Prime Minister is considered too misogynistic, homophobic, and anti-science to even get a job with the UK Government.
Let that sink in Australia...
Boris Johnson stands in a school library that has not been used for five months but has been opened so he can claim credibility from the books. The former librarian's message to management, unnoticed and undisturbed all that time, becomes a commentary on Boris. A terrible shame.
It's a good thing the government scrapped history degrees so we don't have to think about what happened last time countries started stockpiling weapons during a depression
Left work @abcbrisbane today pondering the multi billion dollar defence announcement - then walked into West End where people are lining up because they can’t afford food... can’t make sense of this world.
Why was Jobkeeper modified, after applications by Public Government Universities, in such a way as to make Public Government Universities ineligible for Jobkeeper? But Private Universities can get Jobkeeper!! Or is my understanding/interpretation incorrect?
Even though Australia is in a public health crisis, the Morrison Government is using #COVID19Aus as an ideological attack on workers' rights.
COVID-19 should not be used to take away more rights at work. In fact, workers' need stronger rights than ever.

Friendly reminder that the Religious Discrimination Bill only exists because the government claimed a silent majority didn't want same-sex marriage, put it to a vote, resoundingly lost, and then claimed a silent majority of Australians were afraid this would hurt religions.
