Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017:
"I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."
I met a Top Venture Capitalist today and pitched India's $38 Trillion economy thesis.
VC - "Interesting! To hit $38 Trillion by 2047, India needs to compound at 11.4% CAGR every single year for 21 years straight. What's the engine driving this growth?"
Me: "Simple! We auto-extract 31.2% TDS from working professionals, levy 18% GST on fundamental tools, and spend ₹26 out of every ₹100 on debt interest servicing!"
VC: "Wait... so you expect 11.4% perpetual compounding while squeezing the exact middle-class consumers and risk-takers who create capital?"
Me: "Yes! Plus, if they get laid off or hit a medical emergency, there is ₹0 state safety net, so they spend their life savings privately!"
VC: "So your economic engine relies on punishing productive human effort?"
Me: "Yes, but the headlines say Amrit Kaal!" 🤡
You cannot compound a national economy at 11.4% CAGR by treating your productive salaried class like an infinite cash cow!
Tax consumption, NOT human effort! ABOLISH PERSONAL INCOME TAX NOW! 🇮🇳

Heavy short-form video use is linked to weaker focus and less activity in the part of the brain that handles self-control. A huge review of 71 studies and 98,299 people found that the more time someone spends on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, the worse their attention and self-control tend to be.
Attention and self-control, meaning the ability to stop yourself from doing something on impulse, showed the strongest links in the review, which Psychological Bulletin published in 2025. Stress and anxiety were linked too. The pattern showed up in teenagers and adults, on every app studied.
Forty-eight young adults wore brain sensors during an attention test in a 2024 study in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. The ones who said they struggled to stop watching short videos showed weaker brain-wave activity at the front of the brain, the area behind your forehead that handles planning and self-control. They also rated their own self-control lower.
Body image and self-esteem showed no link to short video use at all. And the link could run the other way, since people who already find it hard to focus may be drawn to 30-second clips. Across almost 100,000 people, heavy scrolling still went with weaker self-control, the exact skill you need to put the phone down. https://t.co/dONEMNVyyv
Two weeks without internet on your phone improved people's focus by about as much as 10 years of aging takes away. In a study of 467 volunteers, an app shut off the internet on their phones, and they could still call, text, and use a computer.
An app called Freedom blocked mobile data and Wi-Fi on the phones in this study, published in PNAS Nexus in 2025. Half started right away. The other half waited two weeks to serve as a comparison group. Focus was measured with a computer test that asks you to stay alert during a boring, repetitive task.
Mental health, overall happiness, and focus all improved, and 91 percent of people got better on at least one of them. With no internet in their pocket, people spent more time with friends face to face, exercising, and outdoors, and that shift explained part of the improvement.
Of the 467 volunteers, 266 installed the app and only 119 kept the block on long enough. About 1 in 4 people made it, even though they had signed up voluntarily and could still use a laptop. The focus boost took two weeks, and three out of four volunteers couldn't last that long. https://t.co/nRaIaUb8pd
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any American in history standing on Indian soil and threatening India’s growth. This happens when weak politicians surrender the nation's greater cause for self-preservation and political gain. Sad.
In a 10 career, O'Hara only played over 2k minutes 3 times
Agbonlahor only played over 3k minutes 4 times in a 13 year career - Palmer was halfway there by the age of 22
These guys have no idea how much football modern players play or the toll it takes on their bodies

My mileage has dropped to single digits, or barely touching double digits.
And honestly, I think it’s over.
We live in a country where we have hundreds of things to worry about every single day.
The government knows this.
Make enough noise, wait long enough, and people move on. We have jobs, EMIs, kids, parents, health, inflation, taxes… life keeps moving.
That’s probably the real game. Keep people busy enough, and they won’t have the time or energy to fight every battle.
This is a premeditated foul from Declan Rice, and he escapes a red card.
He deliberately kicks Yalcouye.
Why has VAR not advised the ref here?
Why are these English referees so terrible?
