@makemytrip shown utter irresponsibility towards customer. Their grievance team couldn't resolve #Ebola related cancellation grievance in 4 months forcing me to approach Consumer Court with hope of refund. Never use MMT as an intermediary service provider. @jagograhakjago

I’m working on an article that explores the inner mechanisms of this.

🚨 How To Spot an A.I. Grift 🚨
If you've ever noticed a sudden influx of endorsements for a new AI product, here's a structured approach to help discern the grifters from the genuine:
Comment Section Shutdown: A promotional video without the option to comment is a major red flag. It often means they're avoiding public critique, which I and others are ready to provide. Being preemptively blocked by these companies is a common experience for those of us who expose these schemes on the regular.
Unnatural Engagement Metrics: Engagement numbers that are too round or disproportionate, like exactly 25K likes, are often purchased to simulate popularity. This video likely bought 2 million views, added 25K likes, and then gathered around 89,000 actual views by manipulating social algorithms.
Understanding the Scam
Here's what's typically happening: Small companies (or individual grifters) are over-promising and under-delivering, packaging basic large language model (LLM) capabilities with a few simple system prompts into a device or service, and then selling it at a steep markup. In this example, it's a cheaply fabricated device with a $199 one-time fee. But beware, a low-cost device offering high-end AI capabilities is currently unrealistic.
The Dual Deceit
Quick Cash Grab: These companies are not in it for the long haul. They're looking to make fast money without investing in substantial development or meaningful research.
Investment Baiting: They aim to create maximum hype to draw in venture capital and angel investors, exploiting the fear of missing out / FOMO effect.
The Role of AI "Gurus" and Influencers
Some influencers may be innocently caught up, while others are complicit, receiving kickbacks for fueling the hype instead of calling for genuine investment into worthy products or individuals aiming to make a real difference in the field.
This trend is likely to escalate, as AI and algorithmic curation can incentivize even ethical individuals to adopt these tactics out of necessity. It's an impending arms race, pushing everyone towards questionable marketing strategies to stay relevant.
Actionable Advice
For the individual: Keep tabs on influencers who promoted this product. Add them to a watchlist for questionable judgment or ethics.
For the social platforms (like X and YouTube): It's high time we talk about some fundamental shifts in the economics of the attention-hustle. Algorithmically curated reward needs to be introduced that encourages long-tail value conversion over quick-hit flash-in-the-pan reply-guy viral feedback loops. This is the only way we create a paradigm that isn't a race-to-the-bottom tailspin of doom.
A Call to Action 🎯
Let's challenge this behavior. Tag an AI "expert" or influencer who endorsed this product in this example in the @ replies below. It's time for accountability.

Nice to see some updates to a core component of GA4.
Separate, I'd love for Google to revisit how sessions are created/calculated in GA4. Need to move past the session_start design that produces a variety of oddities with metric calculations, sub/roll-up properties, etc.

When a video of ours keeps being forwarded to friends & comes back to me too, then it means it’s truly struck a chord… Once again… here’s a toast to Tech Moms..:

Some really nice updates have just been added to GA4 Audience Builder:
- Item Scoped Dimensions/Metrics
- Expanded Operators (match types)
- Match Between Dates
- Low-engaged sessions
The expanded operators are my favorite part of this release!
Many of the GA4 API limits have received massive boosts.
People from @MeasureSlack are sharing that many of their GA4 reports in Looker Studio are now working once again

An underused #BigQuery billing feature that can save you 10x on your storage cost is switching your dataset from a logical to a physical storage model.
Particularly for @googleanalytics data which is easy to compress (tons of columns with repeating values).
