WOW! WHAT A DAY! Please see the photos to hear our thoughts on yesterday, & giving our thanks to everyone involved in supporting our campaign. β¬οΈπππππ
We did it! Planning Permission quashed. A victory to inspire all local campaign groups fighting to protect wildlife habitat. A reckless approach to planning policy has resulted in Permission being overturned @CommunityPlann1@ChrisGPackham@CarlBovisNature

CoE put in new App. to Kirklees Council to fell trees in 2 Ancient Woodlands with no reference to 'Chidswell' & 'Heybeck'. In the interest of public safety and nothing to do with Β£millions profit from larger development. Perhaps they thought we wouldn't notice? We did! @alextomo
Itβs incredible: 238 individual trees, 50 groups of trees, 3 woodlands, 79 hedgerows & all buildings that the 4 developers have surveyed in Titchmarsh they can categorically say that NOT a single π¦ roost in any of them - EVER. 10+ species, 1000s passes NO roosts! @wildlifebcn
Time to swing into action with this year's wildlife survey at Chidswell & Heybeck. Today we took a stroll to see what was about: kingfisher flew right past us, heron overhead and a small starling murmuration! Good omens for more sightings this yr! @YorksWildlife@Natures_Voice
How many early emerging #bees have now lost another source of food @KirkleesCouncil? π€π Looking at the pictures, Iβd say these trees are in the region of 25-30 years old and unfortunately, trees donβt get to decide where theyβre planted. So this is either bad planning on your part, or ignorance. IMO these buildings now look awful, so youβve clearly got bad taste and a lack of empathy for these beautiful and sentient beings, which also happen to be the lungs of your cityβ¦ What a backward approach to tree management and the #ClimateEmergency. You should be ashamed.
