@pearce_ems Hehehe… Funniest moment at a client (not either one of these) was when there was a Sysco USB flash drive sticking out of a Cisco router. Had to laugh at the irony.
@RoseSecOps Just further proof that girls are more expensive overall? Perhaps it's a value prop thing. Usually can't tell that until later in life. ;) Best of luck!
@citylifematt Heheh. You can only hope you gave them the tools to succeed! I have one 13 hours away and another 9 hours away. So nothing is easy, but I still remember my college days and hope they are thriving. For all else, there’s Amazon. :)
@uuallan@NSAGov So, those are microwave communications, not satellite dishes. Most likely a Central Office for the local telco or inter-exchange carrier there.
@danieldibswe I would put an access switch into my “core” wiring closet then. Keep consistency for configurations, security, troubleshooting and overall simplicity!
@danieldibswe@Peter_Paluch This is so true. I remember getting my first CCIE (last century) and going across the street from the Halifax CCIE testing lab and just laying down in the grass and thinking "Oh my, now people think I know everything and all I realize is how much I don't know!".
My daughter, Sydney has a digital art piece entered in this year’s Congressional Art Competition. (Sorted by first name, her piece "The Fall" is the last one listed.)

@LadyNetwkr I'm so sorry to hear that about your mother. Still hoping for the best for you. Unfortunately though, typically those who deserve karma-level punishment do not seem to get it. Keep hoping for balance in the universe though!
Now that it is official in our system and intranet, I can publish it:
I have been promoted to Principal Engineer role in Verizon.
This is the biggest milestone in my career so far. Right on time before turning 29 years old next December.
@MalwareJake So help me understand on this. One cannot reasonably expect privacy when doing something in a public place. And if concerned about what evidence may be obtained, wouldn't that be a great example of the "in plain sight" rule?
@etherealmind Very true. Much like contracts, perhaps work from home option should be milestone based. Measure by achievements, not number of hours sitting in a specified location!
@Marbell28 I agree, and there seems to be an awful lot of that going on these days! Everyone should look for input, but make decisions on their own. Whatever is right for one person and their circumstances is not necessarily right for everyone else!
Well, I think I’d say that if we were the examples of not amounting to anything, we’ve done pretty well for ourselves and should be an inspiration to others to amount to so little. ;) #UnderachieversUnite
@DavidSudjiman@Jason_Gooley What is important for everyone to understand is that even if you “only” attempt the CCIE exam, you are still far better off than many others. And that journey WILL indeed make you a better engineer. Certification or not, still better than if you didn’t try.
@MattWhiteCCIE @ScottMorrisCCIE@RootRiff Nothing wrong with 150K base especially if on a 50/50 sales plan with accelerators. Nothing wrong being a ultra l?earner (regex there :))
