The Henry Nowak bodycam footage will radicalise many. If they released the Southport footage, the country would erupt.
Anything you are allowed to see is put through a risk assessment. Yes, releasing the Nowak footage will cause some protests, upset, petitions.. Maybe a list of demands they can ignore. But in this instance, releasing the footage allows them to claim transparency, ease some of the tensions building and let it fizzle out in a week or two. It is essentially pain they can manage.
Just think about the horrors you're not allowed to see. Horrors beyond your comprehension. Your brain could not process seeing 6 year old Bebe King with 122 stab wounds. Butchered beyond recognition. A girl covered in so much blood her own dad didn't recognise her as the blood altered her hair colour and covered her face. Here is Ed Dutton sharing the details of Southport:
You don't need to read editorialised accounts of what happened to Henry Nowak, at the hands of his killer, his killers cooperative family, and the police.
The sentencing remarks are the closest thing to ground truth, and are not long. Read them.

I strongly suspect the pyramids were chemical production plants driven by hydraulic pressure from channels built underneath, connecting to water sources where seasonal changes perhaps created pressure waves. The internal chambers in the pyramids are what you would expect in a chemical plant, e.g. ammonia for fertiliser.
I’m so lucky to have shared 28 valentines with my favourite thing in the whole wide world.
I can honestly say I love that man more with every passing day.
Marriage and raising children is very hard, stick with it. The days of toddlers and small children are when you are the most distracted, pre teens and teens are tough.
By late teens you understand that you are merely shepherding your children. Their successes are theirs, their failures are yours.
But you have a brand new marriage, you have far more time with each other. All the reasons you fell in love are blooming again.
I promise it’s joyful. The trials and tribulations pay dividends. You get to look forward to the next stage of the lives of your children with the person who shares your history and love of those children.
Happy Valentines to all.
@HistoryBro1 To understand what electromagnetism actually is, I recommend this video by @3blue1brown.
It is a mathsy primer for quantum but tbh what I got most out of it was the set up 'reminding' us what electromagnetism *is*.

Most people don’t know that Tesla has had an advanced AI chip and board engineering team for many years.
That team has already designed and deployed several million AI chips in our cars and data centers. These chips are what enable Tesla to be the leader in real-world AI.
The current version in cars is AI4, we are close to taping out AI5 and are starting work on AI6. Our goal is to bring a new AI chip design to volume production every 12 months. We expect to build chips at higher volumes ultimately than all other AI chips combined. Read that sentence again, as I’m not kidding.
These chips will profoundly change the world in positive ways, saving millions of lives due to safer driving and providing advanced medical care to all people via Optimus.
Send an email with three bullet points describing evidence of your exceptional ability to [email protected].
We are particularly interested in applying cutting edge AI to chip design.
Thanks,
Elon
@CSI_Starbase Starship is still interesting to me but there are only so many hours of sleep I can lose to the internet. This week it's British politics, organisational psychology and quantum chips.
The software engineers over 40 who are still salaried IC software engineers are in the sunset jobs.
You know that old code in the legacy system that youngsters rightly avoid?
Somebody is keeping it running.
Somebody who wants to be present to experience the personal life they worked hard to build in their 20s and 30s.
They want to work a 40hr week, get reasonable pay and have the quiet satisfaction of knowing they are keeping the company running.
They'll help you. Maybe with a cynical eyeroll when you talk about the latest initiative.
They are the OG on whatever legacy systems are out there.
Be their friend.
Know that if you are in a company with these guys, you are not in the world's most dynamic environment.
They are like caretakers of Excel in this pic.
No! Do not add more processes to compensate for doing a bad job.
There was a video editor. The job includes choosing appropriate music. He messed up.
Adding bureaucracy every time somebody makes a mistake is disastrous for organisations.
Encourage feeling professional shame.
It works better.
What once seemed unspeakable or politically untenable is now being said openly, and with confidence. The preference cascade is real—when people see others speaking their minds, they realize they're not alone. It’s as if the fog of silence is lifting, and what was once whispered in private is now proclaimed in public. The momentum is building, and it’s remarkable to see how quickly the tide can turn when truth and courage take hold.
Preference cascades enabled by free speech on X. In the past, when we tried to talk about the gangs the censors stopped it. Afterwards there was kind of a hangover where people 'knew' most other people didn't want it spoken about. But this time when someone highlighted the gangs, the preference cascade let the anger flow. Turns out most people did care, do care.
@adamlyttleapps I recently switched my default search engine from Google to Perplexity. No regrets.
Obviously Bing forcibly barges in if I'm not on guard and has to be ushered out while I mutter swear words.
