Die laatmiddag-sessie van die FEDSAS-konferensie het voortgebou op die temas van samewerking, innovasie en sterk skoolbestuur. Korporatiewe vennote Standard Bank, NWU en MPU Copiers het waardevolle bydraes gelewer, terwyl Daan Potgieter (Uitvoerende Hoof, AON) die hulpbronne wat deur die Afrikaanse Onderwysnetwerk beskikbaar gestel word, uitgelig het.

Die program is op ’n hoogtepunt afgesluit met ’n hoofrede deur die agbare minister Siviwe Gwarube (Minister van Basiese Onderwys), wat 'The New Era of School Governance – Unlocking Potential' toegelig het. Haar toespraak het afgevaardigdes uitgedaag om met visie en waagmoed na die toekoms van onderwys te kyk, asook na die rol wat doeltreffende bestuur speel in die bou van vooruitstrewende skole.

The late afternoon session of the FEDSAS Conference continued to build on the themes of collaboration, innovation and strong school governance. Corporate partners Standard Bank, NWU and MPU Copiers shared valuable insights, while Daan Potgieter (CEO, AON) highlighted resources made available through the Afrikaanse Onderwysnetwerk.

The programme concluded on a high note with a keynote address by the Honourable Minister Siviwe Gwarube (Minister of Basic Education), who unpacked The New Era of School Governance – Unlocking Potential. Her address challenged delegates to look boldly and strategically at the future of education, and the role effective governance plays in building thriving schools.

In her speech Minister Gwarube said: “In every generation, a choice must be made: to be a builder or a breaker.

Builders roll up their sleeves, confront hard truths, lead, and work every day to strengthen our schools, support our teachers and uplift every learner.

Breakers, on the other hand, sow division, undermine progress and sacrifice the future of our children for cheap political point scoring.

This budget is for the builders — those who understand that lasting change is not forgedin the headlines, but in classrooms and communities where our children learn, dream and grow.

Therefore, I say this to the breakers: our children deserve better. If you cannot build, at least do not stand in the way of those who do.”
