Funds don't appear from thin air. In debt-based economy , they're tied to trust in future labor of a country's productive workforce & assets/goods they produce. Compare to survival basics: farmers, day laborers, factory workers paid far less than researchers yet deliver high net utility to society ops. Research is future exploration backed by taxes (labor realization). They may patent/license IP, dev SaaS, or improve lives. Saying "fund everything" shows naive view of finance engine. Some funding disrupts it outright. Fiat petrodollar hegemony bars research counter to financial trust or undermining power/worldview.
