@___frye We could Google a set of directions and print them out, and before that we could get a TripTik from AAA. The you just had to pay attention so you didn’t miss a turn somewhere
@singingsox Still my favorite by far. And I have had more lucira tests fail than the metrix tests. (The ones that also have the flu test, the original ones that were covid only seemed solid)
@singingsox I have had a few of their tests not work and have gotten two false positives over the last year or so but I will say that when I have contacted the company they have been instantly ready to replace the tests. Even sent us a new reader after the second false positive just in case.
@1goodtern Also note some kn95s will pass a fit test with me if I use a behind the head strap to tighten it to my face. If I just use the ear loops the kn95s fail every time.
@1goodtern I’ve also never had it. Any time I have been knowingly exposed I confirmed that I didn’t catch it with pcr or molecular testing. It’s hard but not impossible to do. (Use fit tested n95 and kn95s in all public and work spaces) (note to the gods: this is not a challenge)
@drclairetaylor We use an electric kettle. Though it wasn’t until we stayed an an air b&h a few years ago that had one that we switched from our stove top. It’s much faster than our stove top but only up to a point. As long as I am trying to boil less than a liter.
@ChrisAlvino Many kids would choose to live at school during school plays to cut out transportation time. (It was a school that had boarding as an option)
@ChrisAlvino This sounds familiar. My school started at 8am went to 3pm. 3-4pm was clubs, then 4-6pm was mandatory after school sports. When We worked on the school plays that would come next and we wouldn’t get home till 10-11pm. Had to do homework somewhere in there, it was bananas.
@sun_in_winter12 Do they work? I don’t know. I haven’t had Covid yet but I also religiously wear a respirator that I have been fit tested for in any public setting so I can’t say for sure that they help.
@sun_in_winter12 I have used both covixyl (xylitol) and cofixRX (providone iodine). The covixyl burns for a few seconds (this is a known thing that they warn you about if you read about the spray) it goes away quickly but is not pleasant. I have had no noticeable effects with cofix.
@goodpapajamma@chantz_y It is a powered test device that can run very accurate tests for Covid (and other things like flu, strep, etc.) It’s on par with a PCR test but can be done without a lab at home in 35 minutes. We have/use a different brand that works similarly but the tests are cheaper with this
