I remember that Remco couldn't finish his first training block after Liege Bastogne Liege. Looking back, I feel that Tim Heemskerk has a plan (that got Vingegaard to where he is) that he realised he needs more time to execute with Remco, in terms of training. What they did eventually for this year is probably a patchup job in my opinion.
I have a feeling that next year, it will be a different Remco. At least I hope it is. #ILombardia #IlLombardia #IlLombardia26
a photographer in namibia photographed sn 1006 — the remains of a star that went supernova over 1000 years ago in the constellation lupus. what remains, from his point of view, almost looks like the petrova line.
"I wanted to share some thoughts with you regarding the phase of life and career I am currently in.
First of all, I have a contract with the team running through the end of 2029, and for now, I intend to start the upcoming season.
After so many years dedicated to cycling, I feel I have given the best years of my life to this sport—both as a cyclist and as a person.
I have made sacrifices I never imagined, won races that once seemed like impossible dreams, and experienced both incredible highs and very difficult lows; yet today, I can look back with peace of mind, proud of everything I have done and achieved, with no regrets.
Over time, I have also learned that this sport isn't just about results, victories, or sacrifices. It is also about enjoying the journey and finding the motivation to keep doing what you love.
This year, I decided to end my season after the Tour de France.
I felt I needed some time for myself—to rest, disconnect a little, and regain that sense of calm that can sometimes be lost amidst the relentless pace of competition.
I have spoken with the team and the people around me, and we are all on the same page: I want to give myself the time and space needed to face what lies ahead with the same conviction and dedication I have always had.
I don't know exactly what the coming years hold, and I don't think I need to know everything right now, either.
What I am certain of is that, as long as I keep competing, I want to do so with the conviction that I still have a lot to offer. It isn't simply about continuing for the sake of it; it is about having the motivation, the physical and mental strength, and the drive to remain competitive and make a difference.
For now, I want to enjoy the present, experience this moment calmly, and let time take its course." said Egan Bernal 🇨🇴 (@NetcompanyINEOS), via IG
In the Large Magellanic Cloud, a nearby galaxy just beyond the Milky Way’s outskirts, young star clusters NGC 2074 and NGC 2081 blaze inside immense clouds of ionized gas. Their hottest, most massive stars pour out radiation that lights the surrounding hydrogen like a neon sign, sculpting the vivid nebular structures in the image. These are active stellar nurseries, places where astronomers can watch stars form and begin their lives in a galaxy close enough to study in detail.
Near the bottom of the frame, the small red nebula SUMSS J053917-693329 adds another glow to the scene. Together, these objects reveal the dense tapestry of star-forming regions threaded through the Large Magellanic Cloud. Studying these luminous clouds and newborn clusters helps astronomers trace how galaxies build successive generations of stars.

SpaceX has just released the video of the first operational @Starlink V3 satellites being deployed into orbit from Starship.
One of the best shots they've ever gotten.
Pogacar says 'f#ck you' to Jonas. Pogacar says 'I don't care about 99% of the peloton because I won't speak to them'. People completely forget.
Remco gets angry at someone... all of his fans start ganging up on Remco.
If only Pogacar would also win ITTs, his fans would be singing praises about how difficult ITTs are. 🤣
Ultimately Most Pogacar fans are just like him... disingenuous hypocrites: someone who lives in a sunny place for shady people, and acts like Mother Theresa.

Starship, 45 seconds after liftoff, going through the speed of sound just above the clouds.
I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to freeze that moment so you can cut it in half: two tanks of liquid oxygen, two of methane, a pipe of methane falling straight through the oxygen, 39 Raptor 3 engines.
How much of it do you think is fuel?

October 3, 1942. At a secret test site on Germany's Baltic coast, a 46 foot rocket lifts off from Peenemünde and climbs straight up.
It reaches the edge of space, more than 50 miles high, then comes down nearly 120 miles away. It was the first successful launch of the A-4, the weapon the world would come to know as the V-2.
The general running the program reportedly told his team that day that the spaceship had been born.
Two years later, V-2s started falling on London and Antwerp. They came in faster than sound, so there was no warning and no defense. You didn't hear it coming until after it hit.
Thousands of civilians were killed by V-2 strikes. But even more people died building them. Prisoners forced to work in underground factories died by the thousands from starvation, disease, and executions.
After the war, the US brought the program's lead engineer, Wernher von Braun, to America. Twenty seven years after that first launch, a rocket he designed sent men to the Moon.
What if a planet were as light as a giant cloud? Meet Kepler-51 d, an extraordinary exoplanet located approximately 2,556 light-years from Earth. Despite its enormous size, this planet has an incredibly low density, earning worlds like it the nickname “super-puff planets.” But here's the fascinating part: we haven't photographed its actual appearance. The colours and atmospheric patterns in this video are an artistic visualization inspired by what scientists know about this distant world. The universe is far stranger than we imagine.
