Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers blasts Abdul El-Sayed for not directly condemning the IRGC when confronted by an Iranian-American student:

“This guy is just so completely dishonest. Think of this: this guy had the courage to stand up, and he got very emotional. The guy who asked the question, who was Persian and from Iran, had family members who had been murdered, family members who had been beaten because they didn’t wear their hijab correctly, and family members who had been whipped. He outlined all of this, and all you got was some kind of word salad. He couldn’t condemn the IRGC, which has American blood on its hands in Iraq. They killed our soldiers. As a matter of fact, this is the same group that tried to carry out a terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., to kill the Saudi ambassador. He can’t condemn that. But behind closed doors, he tells people, ‘Well, we can’t really do this because people are sad.’ He is dishonest. He’ll tell you one thing behind closed doors. Then he’ll tell you something completely different with this word salad and try to confuse people. And by the way, this audience was overwhelmingly young students. But El-Sayed dodged answering his question.

Dashti says he wanted a clear condemnation, telling Will Cain: "Just say you're against the world's largest sponsor of terror."

"I think it has something to do with the fact that a lot of his supporters are very supportive of the IRGC. They love the Iranian regime and he doesn't want to alienate them."

"He has an extreme base that just agrees with these horrible, horrible ideas that the majority of Americans don't believe in."
