Dairy remains one of the state's leading industries, contributing billions to Wisconsin's economy and supporting thousands of jobs. Wisconsin is home to more than 5,000 dairy farms and is the nation's leading producer of cheese, making nearly one-quarter of all cheese produced in the United States!
As we celebrate Dairy Month, we recognize the farmers, processors, and workers whose commitment helps keep Wisconsin's dairy heritage strong and our agricultural economy growing.
Happy June Dairy Month!
As Committee Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government, I remain committed to ensuring Wisconsin’s roads and infrastructure are built to support our communities. A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to join local leaders and community stakeholders for a roundtable to discuss the transportation challenges and opportunities facing Central Wisconsin.
Thank you to the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin putting on this event.
Congratulations to August from Troop 435 in Weston on achieving the rank of Eagle of Scout. I had the opportunity to attend the Court of Honor with @RepSnyder85 last Tuesday to celebrate the hard work and determination of August.
Great job!
On Thursday, I joined @Rep_Jacobson for a tour of @nueske_s in Wittenberg.
It is always great to see a business like Nueske's that is so deeply rooted in Wisconsin and I am a big fan of meat!
Thank you to Nueske's Applewood Smoked Meats and the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors for arraigning this tour.
I had a great time at the Marshfield Dairyfest Mayor's Breakfast this morning!
Breakfast tasted very good and it was great seeing some Central Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair Royalty!
Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of Hmong Lao veterans who stood in defense of freedom and whose legacy continues to inspire future generations.
We remember and thank them for their service.
May we never forget their contributions and the important role they played in our shared history.
My position has never changed. Wisconsin's surplus should go back to the taxpayers. I voted yes on this bill.
Unfortunately it failed, but I will keep pushing until that money goes back to the taxpayers where it belongs.
During National Police Week, we honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men and women who work every day to keep our communities safe.
Thank you to all of our law enforcement officers for your dedication and commitment.
Thank you to the Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance for inviting my colleagues and I to your legislative panel last week.
Manufacturing is a keystone industry in this state and these collaborations help us strengthen and maintain manufacturing in Central Wisconsin.
National Small Business Week is a great reminder of the impact local businesses have on our communities.
From creating jobs to supporting local causes, small businesses are the backbone of our economy. In Wisconsin alone, there are nearly 500,000 small businesses, making up 99.4% of all businesses, and they employ about 1.2 million people across the state.
This week, take a moment to shop local and support a small business.
Behind every small business is a story of hard work, dedication, and commitment to the community.
Wishing everyone a Happy Feast Day of St. Joseph the Worker.
This session, Wisconsin passed a resolution officially recognizing May 1st as St. Joseph the Worker Day.
He was a carpenter, a provider, and a protector. St. Joseph shows us the value of everyday work.
Today we celebrate all hardworking people in the state of Wisconsin and ask for protection over them.
Attention Wisconsin Local Governments!
Application materials are now available for Round Two of the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP), with $70 million in grant funding up for grabs.
If your community has rural roads, bridges, or culverts stressed by agricultural traffic, this program can reimburse up to 90% of eligible project costs. Roads must serve agricultural or forestry operations, carry a Class B designations or posted weight limits, and be maintained by a local government unit.
Since its creation, ARIP has funded 120 projects across 56 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. There is no reason your community should be left out.
The application deadline is June 29, 2026 at 5:00 pm, with awards expected in Fall 2026. Visit WisDOT’s ARIP webpage for applications materials and more details. Please share this with your local board or county supervisors. This funding is too important to miss.
