In a VT Senate tradition, I signed the inside of my desk in the Senate Chamber (after clearing out eight years worth of papers). It has been an honor to serve Vermonters as Pro Tem and I can't wait to serve you in a new role! #vtpoli
Today, in one of my last duties as Pro Tem of the Vermont Senate, I got to celebrate the passage of two historic amendments to the VT constitution: fully abolishing slavery and enshrining reproductive liberty. #vtpoli
It was an honor to join with @SKrowinski@GovPhilScott@VermontSOS and advocates who have worked hard over many years to make our constitution better protect all people. Both amendments passed in EVERY VT town. We are united in our commitment to liberty.
@SenSanders and @FINambUS visited the VT State House today to talk with legislators about the challenges we face and opportunities to learn from each other. The discussion included health care, paid family leave, child care, broadband, substance use, housing, workforce, and more.
Congratulations @TaylorSmallVT! It has been a joy to work with you, and watch how effectively you've gotten work done for VTers in your short time in the legislature. I'm so excited to keep watching you shine!
Thank you @OneYoungWorld for the distinction and honored of being named this year’s Politician of the Year at #OYW2022 in Manchester, UK. I will carry this title with pride as we work to uplift more diverse, young people into leadership positions. #RepresentationMatters#VTPoli
Standing alongside @SKrowinski, @KeshaRam, @TaylorSmallVT and more than 40 of our colleagues in support of the @MigrantJustice 10. These are valued members of our VT community and their deportation proceedings should be dropped. #vtpoli
UPDATE: The Migrant Justice 10 continue to demand a stop to their deportations. Immigrant farmworkers get backing of 41 VT legislators and many more in latest filing with ICE. #vtpoli#not1more

Some days are extra special at the State House. Yesterday, @SenatorBalint and I had the opportunity to speak with the 2022 Young African Leaders @WashFellowship class and have a discussion on democracy and leadership. At a time when we continue to face challenges to our 1/2
Great to meet with this year’s #MandelaFellows participating in @WashFellowship. We talked political leadership, women’s leadership, racial justice, and ways VT can partner with African nations. Inspiring visit in the Senate chamber! #YALI2022
This train has been a long time coming and it’s bound for glory! Wonderful to join the ribbon cutting for the @Amtrak daily Ethan Allen Express, connecting Burlington, Middlebury, and Rutland to each other and to NYC. This is great news for Vermonters and visitors!
Both of VT's major health insurance providers have proposed big increases for premiums. The Green Mountain Care Board is seeking public input to decide whether or not to approve the rates. They need to hear how rising costs will impact your family. https://t.co/tko3Ffn7XF

A key step to address our housing crisis @chtrust! The Leg also allowed @vhfa to provide grants to first generation homebuyers and created the VT Land Access and Opportunity Board to help account for racist policies that have lead to inequities in homeownership. #vtpoli
The Senate Committee on Committees is seeking applications for a new Youth Member on the Vermont Climate Council. This is an opportunity for a young person to have a seat at the table in Vermont's efforts to address climate change. 1/2
What a well-deserved honor. Thank you, Erica Heilman and @rumblestripvt for the care and love with which you tell Vermont stories. We are lucky to have you.
We knew this bill was not enough, but it was a step in the right direction. I stand by the work of the House Human Services and Senate Health & Welfare committees. As @RuthHardyVT says, we need to be using every tool in the toolbox to save lives. #vtpoli
@GovPhilScott@SKrowinski and I have been unified in addressing VT’s housing crisis as our first priority. We know the impact it is having on families, businesses, and communities. Through the ups and downs of the session, we never lost sight of that shared goal. #vtpoli
Investing in housing has been a top priority of my Administration since day one. And today, I signed two bills into law that will lead to the most significant investments the state has ever taken to bolster Vermont’s housing stock. 1/

We're so excited to celebrate this win! Food equity for VT students goes hand in hand w/ #EducationJustice. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to ensure all VT kids have guaranteed access to the nutrition they need to fuel their day in the coming school year!🍲 #VTPoli#VTEd
S.140 is one of many bills we passed that you not have heard about, but makes a big impact on Vermonters lives. This is an important step toward access to justice. Thank you for your advocacy @MigrantJustice !
Big news! Gov. Scott has signed into law S.140, stopping immigration arrests (and other civil detentions) at or around courthouses, a big step for immigrant rights in VT. #vtpoli#NoMásPolimigra

This one is particularly satisfying for me because we got the bill started in the Senate Ag ctte. In addition to all the benefits of universal meals and figuring childhood hunger, it will help us boost local foods in our schools.
