Fisher argued that the left made a strategic mistake by embracing a regressive, almost anarcho-primitivist aesthetic to fight capitalism. That argument already appears in his essay Terminator vs. Avatar.
I think he was right. The left will lose the political battle unless it breaks with that logic. Its only viable path is some form of accelerationist Marxism.
Any force capable of restraining acceleration will not come from politics, let alone from a moralizing left or right. Anyone who wants to compete politically has to accept that now more than ever.
Any genuinely anti-capitalist and anti-technological path is ultimately confined to an ascetic or religious way of life. Both the left and the right are structurally incapable of accessing it.
