Prices of essentials such as rice, petrol, and cooking gas have spiralled in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district over the last month, due to a severe economic blockade being imposed since May 13, when three Thadou pastors were killed in the Kuki-dominated district.

Was Mr. Lenminsang of Kolchung Village deliberately killed while present at Songkong Village, Henglep Subdivision, Manipur? This serious question deserves a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation. Authorities must establish the facts, determine responsibility, and ensure accountability based on evidence, not speculation, in the interest of justice and public trust.
Notable deliberate killing of civilian in India:
1. Pathribal Killings (Jammu & Kashmir, 2000)
* Five civilians were killed and later presented as foreign militants allegedly responsible for the Chittisinghpura massacre.
* Investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation concluded the encounter was staged, though prosecutions became legally complex.
2. Machil Fake Encounter Case (Jammu & Kashmir, 2010)
* Three civilians were killed and falsely portrayed as infiltrating militants.
* A military court later convicted several Army personnel, making it one of the rare cases resulting in convictions.
3. Malom Massacre (Manipur, 2000)
* Ten civilians were reportedly killed by personnel of the Assam Rifles at Malom near Imphal.
* The incident led to the long hunger strike of Irom Sharmila against AFSPA.
4. Mon Killings (Nagaland, 2021)
* Security forces mistakenly opened fire on civilians in Mon district, killing several people.
* Official inquiries acknowledged failures in intelligence and operational execution.
5. Oinam Operations (Manipur, 1987–1988)
* Human-rights organizations documented allegations of civilian abuses, unlawful killings, torture, and destruction of property during counter-insurgency operations.
* The allegations remain a subject of historical and legal debate.
6. Extra-Judicial Execution Victim Families Association (EEVFAM) Cases (Manipur)
* Hundreds of alleged fake encounter cases were brought before the Supreme Court of India.
* The Court ordered investigations into selected cases, emphasizing that even in insurgency-hit areas, the use of force must comply with the law.

Dear India,🇮🇳🙏
I would like to draw attention to a deeply disturbing trend currently unfolding across social media platforms regarding Manipur.
Over the past few days, numerous posts, graphics, edited images, and inflammatory captions have been circulated online by like-minded, hate-mongering Naga accounts from Manipur, alleging that Kukis fed HUMAN FLESH 🥩to hostages.
These are among the most shocking accusations one can make against any community. Yet, they are being deliberately and widely shared with zero evidence, verification, or regard for the real-world consequences.
What is even more concerning is the calculated effort by these accounts to sensationalize these baseless claims through the emotionally manipulative use of Al-generated imagery, speculative narratives, and graphic insinuations designed to provoke outrage.
This is not merely an online campaign for engagement or views; it is a deliberate attempt designed to permanently tarnish the reputation of the entire Kuki-Zo community of Manipur.
The most troubling aspect of this phenomenon is that the people spreading these false narratives know exactly what they are doing. They know that outrage spreads faster than facts. They know that shocking accusations attract attention, and that once a lie gains momentum, corrections rarely travel as far as the original falsehood.
They know that once a community is portrayed as barbaric, inhuman, or monstrous, it becomes much easier to normalize hatred, justify discrimination, and incite hostility against them.
History has repeatedly shown that dehumanization is often the first step toward persecution.
As a quick reminder, the Kuki-Zo community went through similar damaging experiences due to disinformation spread by Meiteis in May 2023. This included the widespread circulation of false claims alleging that 40 Meitei medical students had been raped and killed in Churachandpur using wrong imagery from other parts of the country. Those allegations spread rapidly online, inflamed public sentiment, and led to devastating consequences. As a result, hundreds of Kuki-Zo lives were lost in Imphal, communities were displaced, and deep wounds were inflicted that remain unhealed to this day.
That is precisely why misinformation and sensationalized allegations should concern everyone. Once rumors are allowed to replace facts and outrage replaces verification, the damage extends far beyond social media platforms, leaving lasting scars that remain long after the posts disappear.
In an age where a single post can reach thousands within minutes at the touch of a button, the responsibility to verify information before sharing it has never been more critical. Rumors, manipulated content, and unverified allegations must be approached with strict critical thinking.
Ask yourself this honestly..
Why should anyone or community be expected to endure such disturbing allegations, fueled merely by "AI representative images" without proof, while the rest of the world simply watches and scrolls past?

Office of the
AIGEANG VILLAGE AUTHORITY
Chakpikarong Sub-division, Chandel District, Manipur – 795102
Village code no. 00233100
(ESTD 1964)
CONDEMNATION OF FALSE AND MISLEADING INFORMATION
Date: 10 June 2026
The Aigejang Village Authority strongly condemns the misleading and unverified information circulated through the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Manipur Police (@manipur_police) on 9th June 2026 at 2:08PM, regarding the alleged recovery of armory weapons at Aigejang Village by security forces.
The Village Authority wishes to categorically state that neither the village authorities nor the residents have any knowledge of such an operation. Furthermore, no security personnel were seen entering or conducting any search operation within the village on the stated date and time. Therefore, the claim made by Manipur Police appears to be baseless and lacks factual verification.
The dissemination of inaccurate information by an official government agency is highly irresponsible and has the potential to create unnecessary fear, confusion, and tension among the general public. Such actions may also tarnish the reputation of the village and undermine public trust in law enforcement institutions.
The Aigejang Village Authority urges Manipur Police to immediately verify the facts, issue a clarification, and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated information in the future. Official statements must be based on accurate and verifiable facts to prevent the escalation of misunderstandings and maintain public confidence.
The Village Authority remains committed to peace, transparency, and cooperation with all lawful authorities and expects the same level of responsibility from government agencies.

Today another blockade happened in Ukhrul district when NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants are roaming freely carrying sophisticated weapons, ammunition, RPGs, drones and other equipment allegedly supplied through MeiteiCommunity, Meitei CSOs and Meitei police, especially from Imphal.
When the Central forces arrived at the spot, NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants informed Tangkhul women and Meitei Meira Paibis to block the Central forces. They started blocking so that in Ukhrul district and Kamjong district, NSCN Eastern Flank, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants can burn down Kuki ancestral villages and kill innocent Kuki civilians again.
Till today, Tangkhul women and Meitei Meira Paibis continue blocking the Central forces so that NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants can operate freely. Even Junta military and Shanni militants are reportedly staying in Sinakeithel, Sareikhong, Thoyee and Leinganching, especially in Kamjong district, targeting Kuki ancestral villages.
We urge the Central forces to check immediately as there are large numbers of NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants in the area. Central forces must check all those terrorists immediately. If any bad situation arises, Tangkhul CSOs, Tangkhul pastors, NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives' volunteers and Arambai Tenggol Myanmar-Meitei militants must take full responsibility.

Heartbreaking & horrific! Early this morning, militants from NSCN-IM, & ZUF-K attacked Loibol village in Kangpokpi district. They brutally killed three innocent Kukis,, Letkhongam Haokip, his wife Tinmary Haokip & Jangminlal Haokip - then burned their bodies inside their houses.
KHARAM VAIPHEI village has been burnt down in broad daylight post combing operation by the CF's. Allegedly the village volunteers were told to vacate by the central forces before the village was burnt down by the terrorist Tangkhul community and NSCN-IM. 🆘 🆘 🆘
