You have reels of angry officers on anti-encroachment drive but for years we have faced overflowing drains, badly maintained roads, garbage everywhere and even expensive cars drowning but nothing’s moved an inch. Last year you had people dying when cars drowned but human life has any importance.

यह खूबसूरत, चॉकलेटी, मुस्कुराता चेहरा प्रदीप कुमार जैन का है यह PNC इंफ्राटेक लिमिटेड के मालिक हैं। इन्होंने लखनऊ कानपुर हाइवे का ठेका लिया और सड़क का भट्टा बैठा दिया। अब मिनिस्टर ऑफ इथेनॉल ने सड़क की खराब क्वालिटी कॉन्टेक्ट हुए टोल टैक्स न लेने का फैसला किया है और कंपनी को ब्लैकलिस्टेड कर दिया है।

लेकिन कहानी यह नहीं है। कहानी यह भी नहीं है कि यह प्रदीप कुमार जैन भाजपा सांसद नवीन जैन का भाई है। जिसकी योग्यता केवल एक है कि वह एक व्यापारी है।

खबर यह है कि यह कंपनी 2021 में बनकर तैयार हुए झांसी-खजुराहो हाइवे प्रोजेक्ट में भ्रष्टाचार और घूसखोरी से जुड़े मामले में सीबीआई जांच का सामना कर रही है। ​कंपनी के अधिकारियों और क���्मचारियों ने एनएचएआई (NHAI) के अधिकारियों को लाखों की रिश्वत दी थी। यह रिश्वत एनओसी (NOC) जारी कराने, परियोजना का अंतिम हैंडओवर प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त करने और अंतिम बिल पास कराने के लिए दी गई थी। फिर भी मोदी सरकार और गडकरी ने इसे ब्लैक लिस्ट नहीं किया।

गजब का करप्शन यह है कि सरकार ने सीबीआई जांच के बावजूद इस कंपनी को 2022 में लखनऊ कानपुर हाइवे का ठेका दे दिया।

Ajeet Bariya, 21, a resident of Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, developed severe breathing difficulties.

His father called the State Govt’s 108 helpline, explained his son's condition, and specifically requested oxygen support. Although the ambulance arrived an hour later, the attendants refused to give oxygen without a doctor’s prescription.

Upon arriving at the nearest govt hospital, the attending doctor reprimanded the ambulance staff for their negligence, ordered them to administer oxygen immediately, and referred Ajeet to the district hospital.

While the staff finally administered oxygen for the transfer, the supply ran out halfway to the hospital, and Ajeet died gasping for breath. Videos of his distraught family weeping at the district hospital have since surfaced online; one of them shows Ajeet struggling for air in the ambulance, though it is too sensitive to share.

Most state-funded ambulance services function like this. They operate as if they are merely transport vehicles rather than the first link in the chain of emergency medical care. Ambulances often arrive late, staff frequently lack emergency medical training, and life-saving equipment is missing, outdated, non-functional, or poorly maintained. There are no clearly enforced SOPs, little accountability, inadequate supervision, and almost no meaningful quality audits.

A person I know earned ₹48 lakh last financial year and paid close to ₹9.4 lakh in income tax.

He lost his job in December and now has to pay taxes at one of the most vulnerable times of his life.

India has almost no social security. No matter how much tax you pay, the moment you lose your job, the government won't support you.

Instead, the same tax money is redirected into freebie schemes where the priority is distributing ₹2,000 or ₹4,000 to different voter groups.

No wonder brain drain is at its highest.

I'm tired of pretending this is fine.
I pay full tax. Full school fees. Full hospital bills. Full EMI, every month, on time. No subsidy comes down to me. No loophole exists up where I am. I'm stuck in the exact middle where nothing reaches.
The poor get support fair, they need it. The rich get write-offs, exemptions, structures I don't even understand how to access. And Me? I get a salary slip, a TDS deduction, and a "thank you for your contribution to nation building note"
I'm too well-off to qualify for anything. Too stretched to actually build anything. One medical emergency, one job loss, and this entire middle-class stability collapses like it was never real to begin with.
And I've finally understood why nobody fixes this: I'm the most reliable taxpayer this country has, and the least organized voter. I don't protest. I don't strike. I just pay, quietly, every single month so nobody in power has a reason to protect me.
So here's where I've landed. Nobody's coming to save the middle class. Save yourself, plan for yourself, protect what's yours because the system was never built to do it for you.
I'm not angry anymore. Just done expecting anything different.

One thing I feel missing from discussion around yesterday’s rain in Delhi & Gurgaon.
Delhi received heavy rainfall & Gurgaon had heavy rainfall too. But when I searched online, I found very few visuals from Delhi showing severe waterlogging.
In contrast social media flooded with videos from Gurgaon showing roads submerged, cars stuck & infrastructure failures.
This is where administration and execution make a difference.
I have personally witnessed work done in Delhi over the last 6 to 12 months: large scale desilting, drainage upgrades n replacement of smaller pipes with bigger drainage lines in several areas. This impact was visible yesterday.
A year or two ago Delhi used to face situations very similar to Gurgaon during heavy rains. So this is not about claiming Delhi is perfect. Future rainfall may still create waterlogging in some areas. But if we talk specifically about yesterday contrast was noticeable.
I think Haryana’s authorities, especially in Gurgaon should learn what worked in Delhi and implement similar measures. Gurgaon doesn't need excuses anymore. It needs execution.
