At our first mass canvass of the year, we knocked on hundreds of doors in Sheffield in support of our GND champion Olivia Blake.

Expect a lot more of this next year. We have an election to win.

Every day, raw sewage is being dumped into our rivers and seas, turning British waterways into an open sewer.

Listen to @norris_for about Labours 's plans to tackle this scandal.

🚨BREAKING: 25 leading UK climate justice groups have condemned Labour’s refusal to demand an end to Israel’s mass killing in Gaza.

In the letter to @Ed_Miliband, we highlight the links between the Palestinian cause & the climate crisis, and implore him to call for a ceasefire.

[Oliver Coppard @olivercoppard]

⚡ Publicly-owned, zero-emission buses.

The #SheffieldConnect city centre circular is getting a zero-carbon upgrade 💪

[Sheffield Labour for a Green New Deal @SheffLabGND]

Good climate policy must give more to zero carbon targets than fiscal rules.

If £28bn p/a is necessary for our green transition, then this compromise will be ecologically disastrous.

[Carys Roberts @carysroberts]

The bottom line of Reeves announcement is that Labour has recommitted to ambitious investment and industrial policy to reach net-zero and generate jobs.

Phasing this in was always going to be necessary for good investments:

We are on track to breach 1.5C climate threshold by 2027.

We need an urgent, science-led, whole government strategy to cut emissions in line with the 1.5C target.

The Government needs to back the Climate & Ecology Bill now. #CEBill

[Olivia Blake MP @_OliviaBlake]

Tomorrow, I’m bringing the #CEBill back to Parliament.

To truly address the global climate-nature crisis, we must align UK law with what’s needed to reverse nature loss by 2030—and keep 1.5°C alive.

The CE Bill will do exactly that! 🌍🌱 @cebill_now

[Olivia Blake MP @_OliviaBlake]

The @wwf_uk and @theCCCuk called on the UK Government to introduce a Net Zero Test on all public spending.

Great to see @SheffLabour pledge to matching this commitment at a Council level.

Great weekend out knocking on doors in Sheffield Hallam with @GNDRising🔥

Over the next 18 months they will be holding mass canvasses like these up & down the country - making the case for a transformative #GreenNewDeal.

Join the movement🙏💪🏼https://t.co/WQ37qvQe3J

[Olivia Blake MP @_OliviaBlake]

Given the government's plans for #netzero are a joke it's difficult to take them seriously 🦄🍦🐎

[Zero Hour @zero-hour.bsky.social @zerohour_uk]

“Given the final warning for 1.5°C, reports that the Government is off track to meet its own #netzero targets—and the lack of a joined-up plan to tackle the climate-nature crisis—it’s clear we need an environmental rethink, not a net zero reset.”—@_OliviaBlake #EnergySecurityDay

[Chris Saltmarsh @Chris_Saltmarsh]

Why have 15-minute cities become the basis of far-right conspiracies? Why are LTNs dividing communities?

I wrote for @tribunemagazine about the failures of clean air policies in a time of austerity.

[Sheffield Marx Memorial Lecture @MarxLecture]

Forty years ago today, Sheffield City Council organised a Marx Memorial Lecture to remember the life and works of the great philosopher on the anniversary of his death.

We have now obtained a digitised copy of the 1983 lecture, delivered by the incredible Stuart Hall.

[Sheffield Marx Memorial Lecture @MarxLecture]

On Thursday 30th March we will be holding a screening of this lecture at @UnionStCowork at 6pm: https://t.co/zG7avXtWCF

We hope to revive the ambition of an annual Marx Memorial Lecture, so please follow for updates.
