On this 7th of April, Rwanda and the entire world commemorate, for the 31st time, the more than one million Tutsi who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

On this day, the world once again takes a moment to reflect on the consequences of genocide and to commit to fighting its ideology so that genocide never happens again.

"The Umukandara walk concluded today, spanning 151.81 km.
The 13th, it covered 14.74 km from Kaniga, Mulindi, to Cyumba.
The 14th, 22.42 km from Cyumba to Kivuye Sector.
Today, traversed 20.60 km from Butaro Rusumo to Kidaho."

On the 12th, my Umukandara walk continued from Nyagatare, Gikoba 2 Shonga. This was the biggest walk so far, covering over 25 km.
13th, I slowed down, covering over 16 km from Kabuga, Karama to Cyondo.
14th, there were 2 many ⛰⛰. I walked from Rushaki to Mukarange, over 13 km.

Yesterday, on the 10th, the Umukandara walk continued from Rwimiyaga to Ryabega, covering over 20 km. Once again, a big thanks to my friend @Pasficus, who is filming the entire journey.
Today, on the 11th, the walk continued from Nyagatare to Kabuga-Shonga, covering over 25 km.

On the 8th, my journey of Umukandara began from Kagitumba to Matimba center. Attempting to visit Nyabwishongwezi hills, I got lost in Matimba, walked over 18 km due to a wrong turn.
On the 9th, I explored Nyamuhemure rich with Akagera War history.

Commemorating 30 years post-genocide, I've embarked on the historic Umukandara journey with my own feet, once walked by RPA soldiers from Nyagatare to Musanze. This research for my documentary "Utazwi" is inspired by my late father's role in the liberation war. Wish me good luck
