On July 22, while conducting training, an El Paso Air Branch Black Hawk crew was notified of a lost and injured hiker near Mundy’s Gap. Working closely with El Paso Police Department COMSAR, the team quickly responded, airlifting rescue specialists and equipment to the scene. Despite challenging terrain, the crew executed a complex rappel and short-haul rescue, safely relocating and extracting the patient. The hiker was transported to UMC for medical care for further care.
