My father died unexpectedly at home but had a history of COPD and congestive heart failure. No PM. In cases where no obvious cause there would invariably be one.

@sleeepysandy @robbouto @hoovlet That is inaccurate, we are starting to see pre-menarche girls diagnosed and of those diagnosed at ages 12 and 13 many reported symptoms as early as age 8. Endometriosis is not a period disease.

@drmel57 @zoesqwilliams Too bad you will stay uninformed then. Why do you think the endo community is screaming for more research funding? Because GPs and gynaes still tell pts that hysterectomy will cure their disease. It doesn’t because endo is a disease OUTSIDE the uterus.

@drmel57 @zoesqwilliams Diaphragmatic or thoracic endometriosis is certainly not rare and we are increasingly seeing endo on the liver and kidney. This is not only a gynaecological condition. Don’t be fooled by the paucity of the literature (currently).

@drmel57 @zoesqwilliams Can also be found on diaphragm, in pericardium, the brain…in fact it has been found in every organ and anatomical structure in the body. Extra pelvic endometriosis is far less common but no longer considered rare. Hence the push to understand it beyond gynaecology.

@bykatewomersley It shouldn’t even be a conversation. A non-pregnant woman who can consent to treatment, when fully informed of all potential risks, should without question be able to access it. Women aren’t baby-making vessels and an actual human life should be prioritized over a potential one.

@EvaEldridge99 @MeghansMole Nonsense. The picture above is of Frogmore House, not Frogmore Cottage - two entirely different residences. The comment about the “cottage” was regarding their residence in Kensington Palace. If you’re going to have a pop at them at least get your facts straight.
