As always, we are extremely thankful for the support from @NIBIBgov@NIH which is key to making this and many other research successful. This project lies on a great collaboration with Prof. Cunjiang Yu where a Sci-Fi-type idea was made reality. @BrighamResearch@harvardmed
Crossing bioprinting with solar tech, NIH-funded researchers built light-sensitive heart tissue that could one day fill the role of electrical stimulation devices while offering better customizability and biologicompatibility. Read more: https://t.co/UhgZyJPjg8 @shrikezhang
@heryca5@NIBIBgov@NIH@BrighamResearch@harvardmed Thanks Clare. There are different versions of these micro-solar cells that are being developed such as those responsive to infrared light for deeper penetration.
The 2025 ISBF award program is now open for application (https://t.co/IJy8cIiF0I)! The awards will be presented at the @Biofab2025 conference in Warsaw, Poland from Sept 14-17, for which abstract submission closes in a week: https://t.co/OFsWs3RHBd.
The generations of brilliant students have made tremendous contributions to our science and commitments to their own career successes with global impacts.
We have been truly fortunate with all the great collaborations with @TecdeMonterrey over the past decade. Thanks for making this happen and for taking the time for the visit. Very much look forward to continued interactions.
Describing our recent article in @ScienceMagazine where we explore the potential and limitations of 3D bioprinting as well as the challenges it faces in the area of tissue regeneration.

🔬Pushing the limits of human longevity🦹♂️
Currently, the benchmark for human lifespan is set at 120 years. This is due to our biological makeup, which generally limits human longevity. But what if we could extend it even more by replacing vital organs and tissues through 3D printing?
Our recent scientific perspective with @gorka_orive and @shrikezhang highlights some of the key milestones that need to be addressed in order to turn this future vision into reality.
