Thai cultural heritage and traditions are truly magnificent and beautiful. If they intended to promote Thai culture in such a big project, it would undoubtedly benefit Thai people. Instead of utilizing it that way, itโs astonishing how GMMTV is coveting and misappropriating the culture of our neighbors. Actually, they should be using soft power to promote Thai traditional costumes and heritage on the global stage. GMMTV is honestly so brainless.

We respect creative freedom and cultural exchange, but these should never come at the expense of acknowledging the origins of the cultures being represented. Drawing inspiration from another culture is not the issue; failing to give that culture proper recognition and clear attribution is. Setting a story in a fictional city does not erase the real-world cultural origins of the costumes and artistic elements used in its production. We ask GMMTV to look beyond the fictional setting and address the legitimate concerns raised by Myanmar fans. Cultural appreciation requires more than a general acknowledgment,it requires transparency, accuracy, and meaningful credit to the culture that inspired the work. Our demand is not to restrict creativity, but to ensure that Myanmarโs cultural heritage is represented with the respect and recognition it deserves.

Creative expression should always come with meaningful attribution. Respecting and properly crediting cultural heritage is essential for genuine cultural exchange.

To all the international fans, please take a moment to understand our side before judging us.
We are not speaking up because we hate Thailand, GMMTV, or the artists we once loved. We are speaking up because our culture matters to us, and we believe it deserves to be acknowledged and respected.
Many of us have spent years supporting these artists, celebrating their achievements, defending them when others criticized them, and comforting them through difficult times. We stood by them even when it meant facing criticism ourselves. We did all of this because we genuinely cared about them.
But now, we are the ones feeling hurt and disappointed. It is heartbreaking when the people we once supported so wholeheartedly seem unable to understand why something so important to us matters. We are not asking anyone to hate or attack anyone. We are simply asking for our voices to be heard, our culture to be respected, and our concerns to be taken seriously.
We are also asking for clear and proper recognition of Myanmarโs cultural heritage, including accurate acknowledgment of its origins and historical significance. Cultural appreciation should go hand in hand with cultural recognition and respect.
Imagine how you would feel if something deeply connected to your own culture was misrepresented, and when you tried to explain your pain, people dismissed your feelings instead of listening.
You donโt have to be Burmese to understand that cultural identity deserves respect. And you donโt have to agree with everything we say to acknowledge that our feelings are valid.
Please donโt mistake our pain for hatred or our demand for respect for an attempt to create conflict. We are speaking up because we care, because our culture is part of who we are, and because we believe that mutual respect should matter more than fandom loyalty.
Today, we are not asking you to choose one country over another. We are asking you to listen before you judge, to understand before you criticize, and to remember that behind every comment from a hurt fan is a real person whose feelings and cultural identity matter, too.
All we want is the same respect and understanding that you would want for yourselves

Whenever I visit Bangkok, I always go to Wat Arun, wear a Thai traditional outfit, hire a photographer, and take photos because I love it so much.
But now, seeing the company use Myanmar traditional clothing without giving credit or properly acknowledging it makes me feel like my crush doesnโt love me back.

We even joined the โHello Thailandโ trend just because we love you guys so much, but you took from our culture and used it in your series without even asking us or acknowledging us?
It honestly hurts to realize that the love and support weโve given you arenโt being returned in the same way. . ๐

We recognize GMMTVโs statement as an initial response, but it does not fully address our concerns. We still expect a proper explanation of the cultural elements used, clear recognition of Myanmarโs cultural heritage, and appropriate on-screen credits.

Give credit to the cultures youโre borrowing from in the series. I canโt speak for the people offended, since it isnโt my culture, but the bare minimum is to put an acknowledgement in the beginning of each episode & also remove scenes that might be offensive to cultural practices
