I keep neglecting X, but here is a recap of some memorable solar moments from this year to date. The year isn't out just yet so hopefully there will be more to come!
The other day I was able to catch an M Class solar flare from an active region pointed directly at Earth. A noticeable shockwave can be observed followed by a CME, which will hit us sometime Thursday night into Friday. Don't expect magical lights however as a near full moon is going to drown out any faint glow.
Weather is slowly starting to get better for doing solar imaging finally. Hoping that this year is going to produce some cracking images and time lapses.
Not the best of sessions, weather has been on and off these past few weeks. One moment, it's sunshine and blue skies, the next is grey and cloudy. Looks like the weekend might be a better run.
