The other day I was able to catch an M Class solar flare from an active region pointed directly at Earth. A noticeable shockwave can be observed followed by a CME, which will hit us sometime Thursday night into Friday. Don't expect magical lights however as a near full moon is going to drown out any faint glow.

Solar Prominences domain one side of the Sun. This is a short time lapse with each part being 60 minutes, compressed down to 10 seconds.

Weather is slowly starting to get better for doing solar imaging finally. Hoping that this year is going to produce some cracking images and time lapses.

A small C Class flare popped up on the sun this morning. This time lapse is over the span of 90 minutes with each capture taken 10 seconds apart.
