Btw Andreas Thom is now also wondering outloud whether OpenAI used his personal user data to train the model to find a non-sofic group...

Privacy policies on almost all frontier model providers are insane and assuming you have ZDR or any meaningful protection, even on enterprise setting is completely false these days!
Here I'm going to name a few very arbitrary and misleading sentences in ToS of frontier labs that most ppl don't know about. This is all assuming you have already *opted-out*, explicitly of data collection. Default for all frontier models is opt in btw!!
1) the 'explicit feedback': your chats are claimed to be 'protected' unless you provide feedback! what is feedback, you ask? it's thumbs up or down to any message in the chat, or even if you pick 'which is better' response on OpenAI GUI. In that case, you have provided explicit feedback and your chat is collected and retained for *over 7 years*!
@tonyyueyu I think Hodge is more likely true than not, and that either proving it or disproving it is currently beyond the reach of either man or machine.
@ElliotGlazer Dude that doesn't make it not plagiarism! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Think for a second about what ethical standards dictate here.
Hey @__alpoge__ this new Borisov-Gabber-Vasiu preprint suggests that an https://t.co/He83aHIar8 paper explaining the counterexample to the Jacobian conjecture drew from an earlier version of their work. Care to explain how you obtained the counterexample? https://t.co/A3YilnQABW
@amermathsoc This statement is a pathetic capitulation to low-quality, unethical, and unverified work. The decline in standards is spreading from AI companies to the AMS. Tragic.
@nihilunbounded@flawedaxioms It is not appropriate to cast these aspersions on someone (Buckmaster) who has never done anything academically questionable, as far as I know.
@introsp3ctor@Anthony_Bonato Certainly it's valuable, but the issue is suggesting that it was necessary to be confident in the correctness of this proof.
