@supa2001 @SawyerMerritt They make adjusting policies today based on sFSD usage. I would imagine they would take responsibility when the model was at fault and its on you if you take over or are manual. They will have all the data to know who was driving if an at fault accident occurs.

You find out you will get obliterated on mileage. It reprices every month. Take a road trip for vacation? That’ll cost you hundreds next month.

@gosh_sol_eth They would have had multiple opportunities to renew their contracts and request a cut of the syndication. But they either didn’t, or yielded. It would have been very hard to walk away from 600k an episode in the 90s. That’s the game 🤷

I’m in the same boat. During WFH I
- got married
- had 3 kids
- gotten to be involved with them everyday

During an age where people increasingly delay or skip marriage and child rearing, it seems like a no brainer.

Furthermore, I have looked into going back to in office or hybrid. In 100% of advertised jobs at the same level, I take a pay cut directly or through COL because I’ll have to move. I live in the fourth largest metro in the US already.

Quality time with my family and net income will go down.

@mattyglesias With young children it has an amazing upside. Like all things, it’s a trade-off. I think in the long run it’s not good for you.

…yes but you use public roads, are protected by police, receive city water. That’s not free! That seems way more fair than an income tax to pay for that.

Dude it’s getting nuts.
1. I use Guided Access with kids and it has been broken for two releases now the second time you use it without rebooting.
2. If you get a screened spam call, you have to exit the call screen, open the phone, enter the call screen to cancel or it will ring. The phone will not unlock from the ringing screen directly and expose the hang up button.

It is a scary time, but take heart: Our most human trait is our ability to adapt. Prepare yourself now. Save, invest, learn alternate skills, have a plan B and a plan C in the chamber. That said, I am finding lots of room to be useful with these new tools, and people that are paying for that. Times have changed, learn the new tools, do not cling to the old ways.
