West Bengal is working towards a more facilitative land ecosystem by exploring measures such as land pooling and assured time-bound clearances. Given the growing demand for industrial land, the emphasis in industrial parks should now be on vertical development, which can significantly enhance land-use efficiency and create capacity for future industrial growth, said Dr Subrata Gupta, Advisor to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, while addressing FICCI members during an interactive session on October 1, 2026, in Kolkata.

I will be attending programmes in West Bengal over the next two days, the 20th and 21st. Tomorrow, 20th June, is special because we are marking Paschimbanga Divas. The programme for the same will be held in Tarakeswar in Hooghly district. The location is iconic due to its association with Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and his efforts to preserve the culture of West Bengal. At Tarakeswar, various development works will be launched.

Honoured to be a jury member for the #SwachhIndustryPark awards by @FICCI_Ltd. Inspiring to see how industrial parks across India are driving energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainability towards Net Zero goals. #Sustainability#CleanIndia#netzero
It was an honour to serve as a Jury Member for the 2nd Edition of the FICCI Swachh Industrial Park Awards 2025.
The inclusion of private industrial parks this year significantly enhanced the competitiveness and raised the benchmark for excellence. These awards are giving a new dimension to India’s industrial growth, linking progress with cleanliness (Swachhataa) and advancing the vision of a Swachh Bharat and a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Notably, the concept of Swachh Industrial Park Awards was inspired by the guidance of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2023, and launched by FICCI in 2024.

Honoured to speak at the seminar on ‘Strengthening Security: Strategies to Combat Counterfeiting and Smuggling’ organised by #FICCI CASCADE @cascadeglobal at Kolkata. Illicit trade is not just a regulatory issue— it undermines innovation, erodes brand value, and threatens the very fabric of ethical enterprise. We must move from reactive enforcement to proactive ecosystem design to ensure a secure and transparent marketplace.
It was a pleasure hearing the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah, at the FICCI National Executive Committee Meeting held in Srinagar.

Congratulations to Mr. Anant Goenka on being elected President-Designate of FICCI.
Grateful to Mrs. Jyotsna Suri for being a wonderful host.
As Amir Khusrow aptly beautifully wrote about Kashmir “Agar firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast.” (If there is a paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this.)
