Material for my Boulder lectures on "Modern quantum error correction with 4 qubits", covering degeneracy, stabilizer/subsystem codes, Pauli frames, cleaning lemma, decoding, Bacon-Shor, MBQC, code switching, lattice surgery, Floquet codes, & fault tolerance.
I've proven the strangest result of my career..
The classic idea that gradient descent's rate is best with constant stepsizes 1/L is wrong. The idea that we need stepsizes in (0,2/L) for convergence is wrong.
Periodic long steps are better, provably.

Church’s lambda calculus and the Turing machine are equally powerful but differ in the fact that Turing machines use mutable state. To this day, there is a rift between functional and imperative programming languages, because of the separation of Church and state.
In our #quantummachinelearning reading group, @AmiraMorphism gives an excellent talk on quantum backpropagation, information reuse and cheating measurement collapse.

Big announcement today! Our development roadmap (https://t.co/WPWiHVmqTH) outlines the systems and software over the next few years and today we just announced our goal to build a 100K qubit quantum computer within the next decade (https://t.co/xKpJtckthH).
My first-ever paper is now on arxiv! 🎉🎉🎉

We study a cellular automaton called sweep rule & obtain its phase diagram. In particular we identify a region in its phase diagram where the sweep rule behaves as a classical memory.

Happy to share my #RSCPoster with all of you! In this work, we explored how ZIF-8 provides mechanical protection to a delicate biomaterial like liposomes against the harsh mechanical stressors of biolistic delivery.
