Who's building truly affordable homes for the elderly? My choice to move out of my house to free up for a first time buyer are retirement flats. I could buy them but...they don't hold their value and my income could not cover the annual charges plus bills.
@sarah_go_green@OctopusEnergy Because tarrifs are already unsustainable when savings have to be dipped into. I just an unexpected problem in my house, that's what savings are for, not day to day bills
@wesstreeting do you think housing policy has links to health and saving NHS resources? I do, get rid of leasehold tenures so elderly can afford to move from large homes to flats and make it illegal to rent out homes which haven't been inspected for high standards of maintenance
@sarah_go_green@jas_mic The problem is, none of us had to think about this 3 years ago, I've little idea at 76 so how youngsters should understand?? My gas and elec combined was ยฃ38pm, I never gave it a thought. Now in an elec only home it's 80+ not sustainable to dip into savings for bills
@sarah_go_green@g__j Yes I agree re Gregg, and like you I think COPs seem expensive and easily subverted by fossil fuel supporters but I suppose it keeps climate issues in the fore, as does Prince William's earth shot prize
@sarah_go_green@g__j I want and try hard to follow all the views and ideas. I'd like to know who has the ear of the government, does Greg? The challenges of climate change/recovery and ensuring everyone can live and work comfortably and affordably are huge. Will COP help? So many questions aargh!
