Honored to have been an invited speaker at the Stanford Neurosciences PhD Diversity symposium! Truly inspired by Stanford’s neuroscience program and my peers' work in advancing both science and a more equitable future in the field! 👩🏽🔬#ThisisWhataScientistLooksLike
So grateful to amazing collaborators @pineurosci@LMWilliams_PhD and @Stanford_PMHW for their neuroscience expertise, partnership and co-mentorship of @Paula_MunozR 🙏 takes a village ⭐️

In addition to presenting my research, meeting incredible PIs, and connecting with amazing PhD candidates, I got to meet my fellow Puerto Rican @CRodriguezMDPhD. Such a kind and inspiring scientist, a true role model! ❤️🇵🇷#LatinasinSTEM#representationmatters
Today we had our last lecture for the Justice,Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) class. The knowledge and skills that I gained will forever guide me in my journey as a Latina scientist. Together, little by little,we are making STEM a better place, and I’m so ready for it!🤍🤝🏽
Hispanics represent 18% of USA yet we only make up 8% of those in STEM. To celebrate the Latinx History Month, @GladstoneInst shed light into some of the Latinx voices working in the institute to advance science! 👩🏽🔬🧫 🇵🇷Learn more on their link: https://t.co/GJT7W9x1Cu
In an effort to combat ignorance and discrimination, Puerto Rico will now add USA to its drivers licenses in order to make it even more clear: Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and because of that a Puerto Rico driver’s license is as valid as any other driver’s license issued in any state in the USA.
Today's Nobel is a reminder to focus on the work and not the journal. The key publications cited by the committee were published in Immunity, Molecular Therapy, and Nucleic Acids Research. Respectable journals, but not the Big 3. The discoveries are what's important, not a name.

And that’s a wrap for @BrainCampUCSF 2023! It’s such a joy to be part of the camp as an outreach and admissions committee co-director. Seeing an incredible pool of URM students eager to learn about the brain makes me so hopeful about the future of STEM. 🧠#representationmatters

Today I acknowledge my struggles and give myself a big hug! To anyone struggling with chronic diseases, remember how strong you are. We got this! 💜🔬💊 (3) #CrohnsAwareness#research
Today it’s world IBD day and I want to reflect on one of my biggest motivations to attend grad school. When I got diagnosed, I knew nothing about this disease—and it didn’t took long for me to realize that the world of science didn’t know much about it either. (1)
My diagnosis made me realize how important research was for understanding human biology and for developing treatments for diseases. Now, years later, I feel proud for fighting hard and not letting my fears and my disease take control over my life. (2)
#WorldIBDDay is an opportunity to tell people what life living with IBD is like. By raising awareness, we can increase support for everyone in our community. Explore our online toolkit and show your support for people living with Crohn's and Colitis -https://t.co/bKzKzDZamv
Cry with me: I'm at Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture @NMAAHC where I saw myself on a huge display, representing the future of science- with an image from my show Nerdy Jobs @nerdyjobsshow that I executive produce and host. I made history 😭😭
