@justinjack77980 @BackupHangman An industry requires some proprietary element, some capital that cannot be trivially replicated by competitors. You cannot identify that element of the artistic process because it doesn't exist. Art is just a complex algorithm.

@justinjack77980 @BackupHangman Forced labor will have the same value as voluntary labor after AGI: none. Conquest will be the same value proposition. Humanity will simply become irrelevant, and we will all watch the Earth be terraformed into a giant computer as we starve or run out of oxygen.

@justinjack77980 @BackupHangman Almost never, I am an open luddite. Doesn't change the reality of what I said. There is nothing a human can do better than a machine. If AI continues to improve, there will be nothing for humans to do, and mass escapism will be the only outlet for their minds.

@s_pect_re @GregoryConti19 Medicine would advance more slowly without AI, but unless you can prove X-risk isn't real, which seems increasingly implausible, the downside risk is literally universal. Most of the doom predictions account for a short burst of technological miracles before disaster.

2. We can study these questions and the results already show individuals are lonelier, sicker, and less happy becuase of technology
3. Luddism is rational, we can build a human-centric world in incremental stages

@macpheeeee @Bunagayafrost Obviously there will be no meaningful limitations, which means the end of identity, individuality, and consciousness as we experience them. These SF types are very alienated and sick due to their unnaturally abundant lifestyles and so they can't convince themselves this is bad.

@FitConnectFun @hanno_sauer Probably some kind of academic. Only the very most insular and privileged people retained their organic communities in the post facebook internet era. To them it is still basically 1990 because 1990 was basically still 1790.
