Can CT SPECT be used to diagnose and prognosticate how patients with low back pain will do with surgery?
Huge kudos @DukeMedSchool Brittany "Grace" Futch
@DukeSpine
Most medical students change their intended specialty over the course of medical school. Only 27% end up in the same specialty they said they were most considering at matriculation.
But interestingly, that proportion varies widely by specialty.
Minimally-invasive spine techniques are useful in trauma as well.ย
Kudos to Abdulrahman Al-Naseem and @YusufMehkri for major work on this.
Can't wait for more work from this great group!
Hear hear! So much undiagnosed and un/undertreated osteoporosis out there. Proactive medicine PREVENTS patient injury. Would love to see healthcare be more PROactive and less REactive. Thanks @jbjs for leading the way!
I am excited to announce that this October, I will be taking a new position as Chair of the UT Southwestern Department of Orthopaedic Surgery @utswortho. I am thankful to the many colleagues and friends I have worked with over the years. @BrighamWomens@harvardortho@harvardmed
Hereโs to a great game and your bright future playing the game you love! Dr โFuegoโ you are a star that Iโm so proud to call my colleague and friend! ๐. You are both amazing!
Today I was blessed with the opportunity to play in front of Dr. Jerele for the first time! For those of you who donโt know, Dr. Jerele was my surgeon last summer and sheโs a huge reason for why iโm able to play the game I love today. No way Iโm leaving Mike out of this one! ๐๐ผ
6 years ago, 9 months before residency graduation, baby girl arrived!
My pathetic residency director tried to suspend me for missing 7 morning didactic sessions (to take older children to school) after the birth.
I argued this was a blatant FMLA violation. He persisted. ๐งต
