@dugalira Intervention works best when it’s timed well. Plus it’s not a level they target but a relative level vs peer group. Raising the FCNR isn’t to intervene but to assuage street fears on their capacity.
@udaykotak When will higher risk free rates spill over into the risk asset markets! It’s tough to say that the problem is with the bond markets alone unless it’s pure demand driven inflation and growth.
@iRadhikaGupta Measurement is prone to error and bias! Can’t expect investors to check in the 9th year either. Industry scaled by highlighting returns at different splits and now that’s coming to haunt. Investors seek validation basis index or relative returns. Risk reduction is tough to measur
@latha_venkatesh But you needed a GFC to prove that man’s worth. For those around at that time, YVR was always seen to be stifling. Funny thing about markets, you need a crisis and a few injured to validate a hypothesis.
@CsvRamanakumar@shyamsek Measure of performance needn’t be made through index you don’t relate to. It’s like climbing a greasy pole just because it’s there. The choice of performance is very subjective and needn’t be through an index that one doesn’t relate with. investors don’t realise risk reduction.
@shyamsek Most outcomes are about controlling our emotions & behaviour vs churning ocean. Weight loss or staying fit is also more about controlling behaviour and resisting temptation than about knowledge of it. What you said about LT outcomes are also about resisting ST temptations is rich
@shyamsek It’s toughest (most critical) part of investing, not to compare with others. As a civilisation we have been taught to assess our performance laterally and not vertically. Even in schools we assess performance only basis grading systems which are based on what others got 😀
@TamalBandyo@bsindia Credit rating & lending are all lot basis assumptions on refinancing. Seen enough of 'firm has financing flexibility' to raise and refinance the loan. Refinancing is externality and hence there are times when one can do it for Rs 10000 cr while struggle for Rs 100 cr, other time
@iRadhikaGupta Glad to hear about your wellbeing! But with regards the medical care, not sure if this is available to the median Indian. Even the top 10% can’t say this.
