Trekkers can rejoice. Tamil Nadu Forest Department is coming up with an online trekking trails Atlas to enable people to go on their favorite treks in beautiful TN by booking treks online. Initially 40 trekking routes will be made online. These are already existing trekking trails which have been reworked with local community to be jointly operated by them and TN Forest Dept professionally. This will provide a fascinating way to people to connect with nature #TNForest #TNAssembly @TNDIPRNEWS@Indiahikes

Our individual and collective disregard for road safety standards, our unethical business owners who have sheer disregard for any sort of safety norms combined with corrupt government/civic officials keep leading to man-made tragedies that are ruining lives and families forever.
There's outrage, then things go on as usual for those who aren't directly affected until the next tragedy strikes.
We're all a lot closer to being victims of a man-made disaster in our country than we think we are.

Watch | On Saturday, the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department authorities cut the bark of an Indian laurel tree in Papikonda National Park to find that the tree stores water in the summer.
This knowledge was shared with the Forest department by the Konda Reddi tribe, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group inhabitating the Papikonda hill range in the Godavari region. @naiduthehindu reports.

There's nothing sadder than seeing universities cut their arts and humanities departments. Literature, philosophy, poetry, these are things that nourish and sustain the human spirit. They are necessary for us to flourish.
Two years ago, my mentee was diagnosed with cancer very young. It was sudden and unexpected. She was determined as heck though and filled with grit. Once things settled a little I offered her a project to work on to keep her distracted with NO timeline. 🧵 1/10
