Nottingham on June 1st - Don’t mourn - organise!
In Memoriam advert in the Morning on the day: Contact Moshfiqur Noor, MS Advertising Manager at [email protected] or (020) 8510-0815 ext. 205.
Offers to sing or play music welcome.
A reasonable offer would’ve been accepted so clearly it wasn’t reasonable to meet workplace justice the refuse workers are seeking.
It is also outrageous that a @UKLabour@BhamCityCouncil denied annual leave to workers. #solidarity with @unitetheunion ✊🏽https://t.co/4ktLumc9cj
Today I was honoured to speak at a memorial for my friend Max Levitas. The world is a better place because of him.
From the Battle of Cable Street in 1936 to standing against the EDL in the East End 77 years later, Max actively opposed fascism and racism all his life.
The Sikh practice of providing free meals for all in their gurdwaras extended to the whole community. Pure communism! To each according to their needs. Puts our rotten, criminal Tory government to shame.
Wisbech homeless couple get a touch of warmth from @unitetheunion https://t.co/9rbbJJcmGY
The Fenland branch of @Unite_Community has raised money to buy a portable gas heater/cooker for people sleeping rough in Wisbech.
Great turnout at today’s Area Activist Conference here in #Gibraltar. Passionate and lively debates, well done and thank you to everyone who attended. #Solidarity
Enough is enough on the use and abuse of Agency Workers in #Gibraltar. Quality jobs, permanent roles, quality terms and conditions. Time to deliver. https://t.co/41iZzv8Rxx
Congrats Gib! Maybe something to copy in Birmingham? And the Black Country in Merry Hill, once the site of the largest steelworks in Europe with thousands of organised jobs, now the site of a similar number of unorganised workers, mostly young. Decent Jobs Rebellion, anyone?
Over 40 @UniteGibraltar reps walked Main Street earlier calling for fair & equal rights for all workers. They want short term contracts in the private & public sector to be swapped for more secure employment. Spokesperson told GBC the feedback from the public was very positive.
It is with great pleasure to announce that the West Midlands region of the FBU have endorsed Emma Randle (@randersred) in the Worcester PPC selection. Emma would make a brilliant MP, being a strong voice for firefighters and the people of Worcester in Parliament.
One can’t help thinking that this statement by @theresa_may is her valedictory speech. It’s time to move aside, call a General Election, elect a @jeremycorbyn@UKLabour government who will put the best interests of our country at the heart of the negotiations.
@brigidjones@mariamkhan29 Have you published figures showing what you need to provide all services compared to what’s coming in? Sorry, haven’t seen this yet. Our fault maybe? 🙂 Please supply a link if it’s a detailed paper.
