An israeli court releases 9 of the 10 israelis arrested for the attack on American journalist Heidi Levine & other EU officials: of course it does https://t.co/sYlWnzgfXk
Good news from #Gaza: children are back in learning spaces, with fresh fruit to keep them healthy and focused. Seeing them was the highlight of my visit.
But with the lack of commercial access over the past week, this progress is under threat. We mustn’t lose it.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay has called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stand trial for genocide in Gaza. https://t.co/0b3ECHFEgo
Life in Gaza remains brutal. WFP is being forced to cut monthly assistance for half a million Palestinians just as winter begins, when we should be scaling up.
Near one of the meal kitchens in Gaza, I spoke with @AP about what this means for families.

Remarkable. As Trump 🇺🇸 endorses Netanyahu in the 🇮🇱 election, with the explicit reason that they can go to war with 🇮🇷 together, the 🇮🇱 DefMin says that that the aim is to bomb 🇮🇷 back to the Stone Age. Nothing good will come of this.

I am shocked by the political inertia in the face of what Israelis -settlers and soldiers- are doing in Palestine, where terror has become a daily reality. In the West Bank, torching century old trees and poisoning livestock. When will the EU take action against Apartheid Israel?

The responsibility Prof Muyembe & Prof Piot carried at a young age, confronting a disease the world was only beginning to understand, is remarkable.
Five decades later as the world confronts another major Ebola outbreak, we continue to turn to them.
#VirchowPrize2026
It is a privilege to deliver the laudation for Prof @Mtamfum and Prof Peter Piot at #VirchowPrize2026
Few have given more to advance public health while mentoring generations of future leaders
We celebrate not only their scientific achievements but also their deep humanity
The Nobel peace prize was just awarded to the UN official that found Israel guilty of an ongoing genocide
An extraordinary turning point & a vindication of everyone who stood against Israel's atrocities in Gaza!
Congratulations Justice Pillay!
The committee in granting her the Nobel peace prize: “An international legal system in which war criminals are held to account and the victims of abuse see justice served is a precondition for a peaceful world.”
May this justice start in Palestine
Sweden regrets the decision by the US to impose sanctions against the @IntlCrimCourt. Sweden and the EU stand firmly behind the ICC and its vital role in ensuring accountability for perpetrators and justice for victims of the most serious crimes of concern to us all.
Multilateralism and international institutions for ensuring accountability are needed more than ever at a time when violations of international law continue to cause immense suffering. Sweden will continue to support the ICC, its independence and its integrity.
On the day the Nobel peace prize recognises international judge Navi Pillay, the US announces institutional sanctions against the ICC.
I am writing this from Nuremberg where 80 years ago, American judges and lawyers played a crucial role in trying the highest Nazi leaders and commanders, and establishing the foundational principles of international criminal law.
80 years later, what a betrayal.
The Trump administration’s decision is appalling.
But ultimately, it is not about them. It is about us. The US grotesque decision is a test for all European governments which have been tiptoeing, shying away from confronting and responding to the predatory actions from the trump administration.
They now need to rise to the moment. History demands of Europe that it stands for international justice and its institutions.
There is only one possible response: impose immediately blocking orders. The US sanctions cannot and should not be implemented on European territory.
This is not a USA moment. This is a “Us” moment. Let’s rise to it.
Because humanity must win.
