Dedicated teacher with constant aspirations of developing new and effective means for the facilitation of learning. Lifelong learner bent on self-improvement.
It has been well established that a balance of technologically based skills and soft skills is the best approach for the future. If you had to choose only one to focus on which do you think students would benefit from most for their futures? #FutureTrends
Younger teachers, who in most cases are technology savvy; are expected to teach veteran teachers who tend to be less technology savvy the use of 4IR devices. Are veterans willing to learn though? In my experience they often are willing #fururetrends
@ShanithaJu48824 I feel empathy is such an important quality to emphasize, particularly as in the modern world, connections can become less personalized.
There are so many different ways of incorporating technology into different aspects of our lives, sometimes without our realization. As a teacher in what ways do you feel your classes could benefit most from increased technology integration?#FutureTrends https://t.co/Hohrz21x5U
As we become more exposed to information it is crucial to be able to sift fact from fiction. What do you feel are some of the most important skills students will need for the future, with an increased demand for the use of technology in their careers and lives?#FutureTrends
@tweedleD_5561 As for actual strategies, having observations of effective use of those skills such as communication. Providing plenty of opportunities for interaction, I feel it is important that these aren't forced as that could associate negativity with skills required for effective teamwork.
Ironically, an important aspect that stops people from being replaced by technology could be negatively affected by technology. Will future schools be more focused on teaching interpersonal skills as AI takes over the more logic-based tasks?#FutureTrends

@tweedleD_5561 I feel parallels could be drawn between online or technological interactions and how they relate to soft skills needed for working as a team. Also emphasizing means to build students' confidence and empathy as these play a role in implementing those soft skills.
When you first became a teacher, did you feel more motivated then, or has your motivation only grown and what role did leadership play in the rise or fall in motivation? Perhaps it is up and down and if so does it feel like school leadership correlates to that flow? #futuretrends
@MziPfukani Very interesting, initially I thought all the rules were extreme. In the end, it was clear that this is an effective way for students to develop skills and values that will be beneficial for success, later in life they can always abandon or adapt these values and skills.
A lot on how schooling and the education system need modernization and a complete overhaul, with an emphasis on the 4IR and integration of AI. Is there still a place for traditional education methods or should those be disregarded completely in the name of progress? #futuretrends
@NdumyMlotshwa Very true, upon further exploration of this topic it appears the loss of specific skills such as critical thinking, communication, and problem solving could be negatively affected by an overreliance on AI.
@KeKrug I remember always being told about the significance of the teacher's role as a facilitator. Is it possible that at some point during the 4IR being a facilitator will become the prime responsibility of teachers?

So important that we actually understand what 4IR can do for us and the children, and the roles we as teachers should be taking. https://t.co/NNuWuyoslO. #FutureTrends
@NdumyMlotshwa I would say to be familiar with those skills themselves. This might be unrealistic when the skill base becomes too vast, in those cases having the right people who are familiar with those skills in the right positions will ensure students are being exposed to those skills.
@KeKrug@ed_pascoe91 I was thinking the exact same thing. I guess it's a case of not being a concern until there is a drastic or noticeable impact. I personally do not understand the impact unless clearly explained.
@Thabiso_Langa91 There could be an upside, if school managers are willing and able to improve their proficiency during the enrolment they could be more connected to the process. Management will be more familiar with the more crucial aspects of ICT relevant to their current situations.
@LungstaEliana I agree, very important to consider the base on which these future skills will be developed. I feel like it could become very overwhelming for students if they are lacking in some of the basic skills required for the new developments the 4IR brings.
@RozannePre38591 Great point, as important as it will be for leaders to master the skills of developing prolonged habits it is equally important to foster the same mentality in those whom they oversee.
Which role in school leadership do you feel carries the most responsibility when there are drastic changes in the teaching process? For example, shifting to online teaching or increasing the integration of technology into the classroom. #FutureTrends
