@BoWang87@tokifyi Excellent points! Canada also has a near full stack of firms across the AI supply chain too. I just mapped 182,000 companies in Canada’s AI supply chain https://t.co/wqY1BE86Y9
@kazdenc Awesome map and video! I’m working on an open data AI supply chain map of 182,000 Canadian businesses across Canada. All data will be downloadable for free and could be added. So many great Canadian businesses
Free bilingual Canada Strong Fund (CSF) map of businesses!
The opportunity is $25 billion in initial funding.
But, I’ve seen little data available on fund targeting.
That’s why I made a map of all relevant businesses.
To help municipalities and businesses prepare.
In June 2025, Canada had:
→ 4,963,835 businesses
→ 66,589 with 50 or more employees
→ 3,456 with 500 or more employees
(StatsCan, Table 33-10-1014-01)
I filtered for all relevant businesses.
Only those in key industries with 50 or more employees:
↳ 987 in Energy & Mining (All NAICS 21-22)
↳ 4,817 in Infra. & Construction (All NAICS 23)
↳ 3,054 in Transportation (All NAICS 48-49)
↳ 7,056 in Manufacturing (All NAICS 31-33)
↳ 954 in Agriculture (All NAICS 11)
↳ 428 in Data & Telecom (Select NAICS 517-518)
Total: 17,296 businesses (0.35%) with potential for fund investment.
This awesome @PillarNN event with @ImagineCanada is tomorrow and open to all! London, Ontario is home to hundreds of highly impactful local nonprofits, including some of the community’s largest employers. E.g., my great alma mater @WesternU, @LHSCCanada, @stjosephslondon, and @FanshaweCollege.
The nonprofit sector’s social and economic impact is similarly large locally across Canada. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect.
I am excited to learn about how the impact of nonprofits will continue to scale. My startup, @Cross_Econ, is in early development of a public economic development platform to provide nonprofit and private sector organizations of all sizes tools to enhance their incredible pace of innovation.
The technology platform is being built to provide free data analytics and tools at the local level for all communities and industry sectors in Canada. Follow this account for updates.
