I used to complain about @wmata. Now @MARTAtransit. Occasionally I write unsubstantiated hot takes about other stuff. @dcairports hate-tweeted me once. #GoDawgs
@ajlamesa The whole Atlanta region will rip up plans, change direction, or jump headfirst into a bad decision after seeing one flashy powerpoint and getting a consultant to sign off on it.
@ajlamesa@mr_november20th Not only is the bus frequency bad, but they won't let you stand up while the bus is moving. Everyone needs a seat. So even if you get lucky and get a large bus, it's never going to be filled beyond ~40% capacity. Never seen that at another airport anywhere in the world.
@hplc_tech@Kam7810 "only a few" lol. this is a false narrative that's only possible to sustain if you live in the suburbs and base your worldview off of "no one I know does X."
In reality there are about 7mil rides/month https://t.co/sv8fqAKDPA
@GaTechAlum_IE92@Kam7810 The frequency at rush hour is currently 10 mins, or effectively every 5 mins if you're going anywhere on the N/S line between the airport and Lindbergh.
@atlurbanist@Urban_Connector Thinking about the way weekend service tends to work around here, the idea of someone having to take Gold -> Red -> BRT -> local bus (with low freq, mismatched headways) is enough to just throw your hands up and say "forget it" for anything that's not a necessity.
@MikeConti929@todosamanaray Not being incendiary but have you ever tried it? Drive to Doraville, park for free. One stop ride to Midtown. Easy walk to Colony Square. Even if it takes 5 mins longer it's quite a bit more pleasant than being surrounded by pissed off aggressive drivers.
