Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has officially terminated all HHS contracts with companies owned by Bill Gates, slashing hundreds of millions in federal funding. The move is part of Kennedy's broader effort to end government reliance on the Microsoft founder's business ventures in the health sector.

"We won't be giving him another nickel to develop more jabs," Kennedy stated during a recent Senate Finance Committee hearing. The decision is just the latest in a series of actions targeting mRNA vaccine development, with HHS previously canceling 22 projects worth nearly $500 million nationwide.

Gates reportedly received an estimated $408 million annually from federal contracts at one point, a figure that has now dropped to less than $10 million. Kennedy framed the cuts as a necessary step to redirect taxpayer money away from what he views as ineffective vaccine platforms and toward "safer, broader vaccine strategies" like whole-virus platforms.

Critics argue the decision undermines pandemic preparedness and scientific progress, with experts warning it could leave the U.S. vulnerable to future outbreaks. But Kennedy and his supporters see it as a long-overdue reckoning with the influence of private billionaires over public health policy. In 1996, Congress passed a law creating a special fast-track deportation process (“expedited removal”) for illegals who have been inside the US for 2 years or less. After adoption, it was never applied outside very limited circumstances. In 2004, the Bush Administration published a notice in the Federal Register limiting expedited removal (ER) to within 14 days and 100 miles of the border. In the first Trump Administration, DHS extended ER to the full statutory construction enacted by Congress — it was immediately blocked by a federal judge. The Biden Administration later formally restored the Bush policy. On the first full day in office, January 21, 2025, President Trump’s DHS again restored the long-unenforced statute, and was again blocked by a rogue judge. Today, the an appeals court has finally vacated that injunction. This ongoing saga is a tragically illustrative example of just how many forces are at work constantly, and over many years, to deny Americans their sovereignty.

Myself and 24 other members have signed a letter pledging to vote NO on any Senate bills unless SAVE America is passed.

Now, the Senate is sending a housing package to the House, and to honor my pledge I will oppose it unless SAVE America is attached.
