@BooZLD_4703@NU_ChemE Very interesting project! I was wondering how you plan on cleaning the membranes, and how often and how much time will it take? I did not see a place in the P&ID where the waste from the wastewater is dealt with. Thanks and great work!
@donepegel@NU_ChemE Great Poster! In your abstract you mention you are trying to combat low patient compliance, how exactly do you plan on doing that? Compared to what is already out there how will a topical gel increase compliance?
@CamelinaSativa@NU_ChemE This is a really interesting project! We noticed that you mentioned that you'd be recycling methanol in your process, are there any other cost-saving or sustainability-focused measures that influenced your design?
@han_solo_4703@NU_ChemE Hi HAN Solo, Your project idea is really interesting and we enjoyed learning more about it! We were curious about some of your safety features. Can you tell us a bit about some of the hazards involved in your process and how you mitigated/planned for them?
@SweetChlo1@NU_ChemE Hi SweetChloë - we're excited by your work into replacing common pesticides with healthier solutions! We're wondering if you have any initial simulations or prototypes that you used to influence your model, and what unit ops you're optimizing going forward!
@Nosym_Pharma@NU_ChemE Hi Nosym, thank you! We are working on a model over the hydrodistillation vessel, to optimize the unit operation using steam to extract the essential oil from the plant material. Our proof of concept is based on papers because we do not have the ability to prototype at this time
@RyanStelmach@NU_ChemE Hi Ryan, nice to hear that there is a market for the product! Coumarin, one of the main active ingredients has been written about in papers as having a 84% repellency rate comparable to DEET (https://t.co/RgSU3k1yQg). By hydrodistillation we can get a well purified essential oil!
