This class was very fun and I definitely learned a lot of important things about digital technology and the future. Technology has such a massive impact on our daily lives and you don't realize it until you actually think about it. #digitechs22b
One of my course takeaways is people have so much power when they work together. The internet can connect people all across the world and when they band together to form something important, want their voices to be heard, and create a movement they can do it #digitechs22b
@Sac401S I agree. Households will become fully digitized. We already see now how different devices can connect to your house and activate everything in the house. As opposed to having to purchase these things, houses are now going to be expected to have these things in the future.
@floskor1 I agree. I think contactless payment will become the normal payment method. It is just a lot easier and a lot more organized to have everything digital and on your phone. Instead of having to carry your wallet and phone, now you just need your phone.
@mackryprof I agree. I think VR will become a regular part of everyday jobs. With it slowly improving year by year, I think remote work can become much better. For example, workers could wear VR headsets that put them in their office so they have access to their desks while being at home.
Digital twins are going to become a common thing in the future. If you want to test out or alter an object or product, but it would be too expensive to physically do it, you can just virtually do it without having to worry about expenses. #DigiTechS22B
@UPAMAROY10 This is really interesting and very relevant to what's going on today. I am interested to see how far nfts go and if they will take over the art world.
@jyu652 I think this is very interesting. I definitely think drones will help get packages out quicker to the customers, but they would replace a lot of jobs that people need. Also, I don't know how well they would do in snowy or rainy conditions.
@AngelesBritezz I think this is great for this project. Social media can definitely take a toll on people's mental health. Not only does social media show unrealistic realities, but there is just also so much negativity. Every time you log in there is always a negative post about something.
The technology I chose for my EDTP project was movie streaming services. A lot of movie streaming services have come out in the past couple of years. Is there a chance that movie theaters go out of business entirely? #DigiTechS22B
@pangu629 Yes, I think this makes a lot of sense and the number is going to continue to grow as technology advances. People are dependent on their phones and laptops because not only does it provide a source of entertainment, but people also need to constantly be using them for their jobs.
@PeterKabo2 Yes, this has changed drastically in recent years. Back in the day people were always told to keep personal information to themself unless you knew the person. Now everyone goes around posting pictures and videos of themselves that everyone has access to.
@FParnagian It makes sense that the younger generation has turned away from cable television because now there are so many apps that allow you to watch your shows without commercials. Also, cable tv can get expensive and most people don't watch all the channels they have access to.
Reading has changed. Many people used to go to libraries to pick up books they were interested in. Now everyone can download them from their tablets or smartphones and constantly have their books on them wherever they are
